[1] yeah. Of course. inspecting the ship. As you turn to flee you notice that guards from the Mandate Building have closed in and that you are surrounded.

Shoot a guard in the least densely populated area of the crowd, and jump into the most populated area. Get lost in the crowd.

"It's funny. I always saw this coming, but no one listened..."

Now the guards are all gone, I'll just untie myself and go sit in a more comfortable position.

"Well, 'Solon'.... I guess I'll just have to accept your rule. I am here to help the people, not myself.
I suggest we revise the whole space station and launch a station designed to support high scale agriculture. This idea still needs some work though, as I made it up on the way here."

((the fuck? But okay, somewhere out there the universe must love you.))
[6,6] You are about to run into your painful death when the world suddenly goes white. You can't see anything but hear loud scream, the sound of randomly discharged guns and then suddenly somebody grabs you by your arms.

"Calm down Senator, we are here to save you!" slowly your vision comes back and as you look around that most of the guards are knocked out or have been restrained by a ragtag group of people. They bring you in a nearby shuttle and set off with it.

"Thank you citizens, I am happy to see not everyone has bowed down to this "Solon""

Ride along. Keep my gun nearby

Having read and carefully weighed every application, former Senator candidate Jeffery Daniels has been deemed the one most fit to govern Thorin I.
Recruit 20 rank 1 troops.
Assign 25.000 credits to the Ministry of Development.
Assign 40.000 credits to the Ministry of Science.
Retain 8.169 credits in reserve.
Request that fleets 2 through 4 continue with exploratory expeditions under the Grand Admiral.
Fleet 1 is to remain stationed near Terra.

"How shall I put it, Mr. Huygens? Your proposal is entirely devoid of merit and a personal fancy that defies any paradigm of responsibility to mankind. One such a station is, at the present moment, not only entirely useless, but also unbelievably expensive amidst a crisis, of all things. And that is why there is no longer a Senate, nor a place for you and the likes of you here. In hindsight, maybe untying yourself wasn't such a great idea. Guards" says the Solon.

Invest 40.000 in civic research on Earth.

Memo on the demographic situation on Earth.

The current demographic situation on Earth, combined with current emigration policies, is likely to cause an acute shortage of workforce and have a significant effect on the economy.

Spit in the direction of the Solon's face. Get ready to fight until the end. Preferably breach and escape.

[1 vs. 4] This time the guards are far quicker, having been replaced with actual Military and not the rather decorative Senate Guards. You quickly get a gun to the face and are tied back down again. This time properly and in a way that it hurts.

The Solon draws a loaded revolver and promptly unloads into the former Senator's' head "That, you should have known, is only fate in reserve for a traitor to mankind".

"Former Senator James H. Grey has rejected the chair in the Ministry of Development and retired to his residence in Luna, in an undisclosed location. That said, I`d like to announce the appointment of former Senator Jerimus Machinas to the position; let this appointment not turn sour as the last one"

Jerimus Machinas is appointed Minister of Development.

"Humanity must spread beyond our earthly cradle, this is clear, and we have made bold strides in that direction. Thorin I, however... is not the answer. Rapid immigration has put Mars under impossible strain. Though it pains me to say, colonist immigration must stop for the time being! Mars is in turmoil. Pogroms? Cannibalism? How can we send people to such places in good conscience? Thorin I requires heavy development to support human life safely.

Ten thousand credits are being donated directly to the Martian people to ease this crisis, to be spent on food supplies, the remainder going into civilian infrastructure such as hospitals. None may be used for any military matters.

Eight thousand credits are being transferred to Thorin I, for the use of developing more extensive cavern-based infrastructure for protection against the meteorite rains.

I also am commissioning a study on how many people could be safely transferred to colonise Thorin I (?? credits)).

In my time in industry, I have long learned that excessive haste can lead only to ruin. Our actions may sometimes be swift, but they must always be tempered with caution."

Turn 4: Barbarus ante portas

"Recent reports indicate that Political Refugees from Mars and disgruntled Colonists from Thorin I have returned to Earth illegally..."
- CNN World News

And once more the Senate is buzzing with activity. Although the institution has been suspended the Solons Administration is still there.
Huge leaps had been made in the Colonization of Desert Worlds although still not enough.

Thorin I suffers from teh Deadly Meteorite Rains while the Unrest is causing almost open civil war.
On Mars the Situation has calmed down somewhat due to the introduction of Martial Law. However, on both planets people are fleeing illegally back towards earth.

Meanwhile Space Exploration has been a success. of 3 Fleets 2 have returned with Good News. The Darkland System and the Eridani Prime System have been discovered. Eridani Prime even sports a colonizable World. More interestingly and sheer unbelievable is the number of sentient races discovered. Darkland contains two settled worlds of primitive Xenos which barely have reached sentience. On Eridani, a world covered in heavy jungle, however the Third Alien Race has reached the level of bronze age technology.

In other news a certain someone has covertly reached Mars...

On the request of Senator Arthur Granger a massive prison had been planned. The entire Moon would be converted intoa  Penal Colony at the Price of 100.000 Credits. ( Each Million Inhabitants of a Planet sent there permanently reduce Unrest by 1 on the Planet sending them.)

In unrelated News Unkown Artifacts have started to appear on the Black Market, claims being that these are of Extraterrestial Origin...

Pressing Issues:

First Contact
Second Contact
Third Contact
Thorin I Riots
Mars under Martial Law
Deimos Prison
