3d Viewer
« on: October 30, 2007, 12:53:00 pm »

I just recalled that basic 3d viewer that was in a few of the screenshots from waaay back... Does anyone know how to turn it on, or is it switched off?

[SHIFT] + [V] brings up the Visualise screen.  It's not fully functional yet, however.

It is pretty handy for getting the feel of an area you're working in though.

It doesn't seem to do anything but bring up a flat gray square...  :( that's a shame, I wanted to make a giant dwarven statue and look at it in the 3d viewer lol

Right now, it seems like it's only useful for getting a feel for the surface, not what's underground.

Also, when I tried to look at the chasm, it seems like it was covered up with a floor; I couldn't see down the side of my chasm (which is a huge circular pit).

It seems that numpad + and - rotate the view along what I believe is the Y-axis. That means that, if you can place it just right, you can look at your statue.
