BATTLE BIKES- Turn 0
« on: December 27, 2013, 12:29:22 pm »

The companies list their bikes in order: built for speed, built for control, and built for combat. Any player may choose any bike, even if chosen by another player. I'll take 6 to 8 players, all you have to do is post "in" or a similar statement of interest, a name if you don't want to be called by your forum name, and what bike you plan to use.

More tracks will be added. Not all tracks will have multiple routes, but for now, they're included.

shARD: Known perfectionists, shARD are known for pushing a bike's capabilities to its limit.
Spoiler: Mako S (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Hammerhead (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Great White (click to show/hide)
Volk: This company is known for their aggression on and off the track.
Spoiler: SV Squall (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: SA Arctic Storm (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: SF Blizzard (click to show/hide)
Eagle Eins: Originally contracted for military vehicle design, now builds bikes suitable for the dangers of BATTLE BIKES.
Spoiler: Peregrine (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Vulture (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Killer Hawk (click to show/hide)
Davis Motors: Makes stylized bikes for a civilian market. Remarkably balanced.
Spoiler: Shooting Star (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Comet (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Asteroid (click to show/hide)
Kunai: A Japanese company known for innovations in design.
Spoiler: Shuriken (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Wakizashi (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Katana (click to show/hide)
Lucha Tigre: Inconsistent design dosen't always mean bad design, though the company isn't very uniform in what it wants to achieve.
Spoiler:  El Tiburon (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Halcón ON&ON (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Tigron (click to show/hide)

Top Speed reflects the maximum number of points you can score per track section.
Acceleration adds half it's value to your speed every successful track section- or, a player may choose to slow for a difficult section of track (-X to acceleration, allowed to be negative, for +X to control)
Control determines roughly what difficulty rating of track you can tackle easily, it adds half its value to control rolls (d6).
Agility determines how easy it is for you to get on shortcuts, they add straight to a d10 to see if you are able to take a shortcut. Note that some shortcuts are more difficult but offer other advantages, and are optional.
Armor is the primary stat for getting hit by weapons, half of its value subtracts from a weapon's damage, damage reduces Armor unless otherwise specified.
Firepower determines what weapons you'll be able to pick up, and how often it happens.

---

Later on, Prototype bikes will be unlocked, which bring new elements to the game, such as adding to a stat when something happens, or passive abilities.
Prototypes will become available in batches, there are three sets.

---

TRACKS:
The Subway can be punishing for those not able to control their bike, and offers some of the toughest sections of any course on it's Medium and Long courses. Jumping from easy track sections to brutal turns, the Subway cannot be underestimated.
Spoiler: Subway Short (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Subway Medium (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Subway Long (click to show/hide)
Anulpha Square is almost completely without skillcuts, and it's long section contains some of the most brutal track designs yet. It's difficulty skyrockets the more of it you have to race.
Spoiler: Anulpha Square Short (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Anulpha Square Medium (click to show/hide)
Spoiler: Anulpha Square Long (click to show/hide)
Thunder Park is a largely non-technical track with a lot of weapon pads. It's Funhouse section involves dodging mirror-coated pillars, on the medium course, you'll be flying high above the track, and on the long course, you'll have to enter the Madhouse.

In. I'l use the Katana.
EDIT: It would be interesting and likely somewhat helpful to have rough maps of the tracks. No fine details, just things like corners, turns and such.

I have the actual drawings, though seeing which path is which is a little difficult and scanning probably isn't something I could do. There's a chance I might can, if not, I'll see what else I can do for images. At the least, I can indicate which direction each turn is (left or right).

You could mark turns and such with numbers, then mark out small numbers that correspond to that area on the map. That's one way you could do it, at least.

I can try that, yeah. Each path is actually part of the same track, the longer routes being extra parts of the track. I think the "long" version of Thunder Park is actually shorter than the medium one, but it makes sense because of the Madhouse.

Season Statistics:
The F100 Series
shARD, after completing pre-season testing, has withdrawn from the F100 for an indeterminate amount of time, citing "problems with the current design". It is unknown if they will return in time to qualify for final events.
Volk is making a strong appearance, with two models on the field, company CEO Holst Overell boasting "that track superiority is nearly guaranteed".
Eagle Eins has entered with a single craft, but still seeks to "put Volk in their place". A rivalry may be brewing.
Davis Motors released data on their entrant, a surprise to the experts, who did not expect much of Davis this season.
Kunai is a force to be reckoned with, securing three upstart pilots for each of their models.
Lucha Tigre claims to be a bold entrant, but with only a single model from a relatively new team, many claim this to be nothing but hot air.

---

Four entrants are considered Combat-class, three are using speed-class, and one entrant is using an Agility-class bike.

---

The tracks for this season are Subway, Anulpha Square, and Thunder Park. Each season consists of six events- four races and two other events such as time trials or battles. Racers may choose to switch their selection of bike to any other from the team they are on for all events except for main races.

The first event is a Race consisting of Three Laps, on Anulpha Square, Short.

---
Event: Quick Start
Highest roll(s) gain +2 to starting speed!
---

SV Squall: 4
SF Blizzard: 2
Killer Hawk: 4
Shooting Star: 6- +2!
Shuriken: 5
Wakizashi: 4
Katana: 6- +2!
Tigron: 4

You are approaching the Quick Angular Turn (4 Control). Success is determined by a d6 and half of your Control score. You may take turns slowly, losing a point or more of acceleration for a +1 for every point you spend on your roll.
