Heisenkaf can not turn the handle, as it is one that one merely needs to pull to open, under normal circumstances.
Furthermore, it is a very awkward angle for one's arm to bend at.
The window, is of course, barely wide enough to fit an arm through.

It is becoming more and more evident that you can not open this door, at least not with standard methods.

The fire is, as mentioned, roaring. It is all that can be seen behind the door.
The smell of smoke and burnt flesh is, oddly enough, not coming from the room.

Mr Austin gets as close to the window as he can and shouts out "Help we're stuck inside let us out!!"

Check out the pit and look for more exits.

Mr. Austin's call for help falls on no visible ears.

Then, a woman's voice responds.
Her voice is deeply unsettling and unintelligible.
She might be speaking French.
She sounds like the shouting woman heard before the window broke.

Spoiler: Details (click to show/hide)

She turns her head to face the door and makes some sort of sound, possibly light laughter.
A few steps and she's already looking in at all of you through the window.
There is neither malice nor friendliness in her face.

The pit is too dark to make out any more details than already discovered.

As to exits, it looks like one might be able to cross the bridge gap via the hanging wires that hold fragments of the catwalk.

The room with the fire doesn't even feel warm to be near.

Mr Austin ears prick and his eyes widen, "Can you speak English?!,"He shouts with a somewhat weakened voice from all his previous shouting."If you can, help us out!"

The woman does not seem to understand Mr. Austin's words, and says something unintelligible back in presumed French.

She steps back from the door and stares at it for a few seconds.
Then, she grabs the sides of the window from and pulls.
The metal groans as it is slowly bent and torn apart.

One of the hinges breaks.
The other follows, the last thing keeping the door in place.
She yanks it loose from the frame and tosses the metal into the pit.

She says something else to all of you, and jumps into the pit herself.

The wires are slick, and Shane almost falls, but he crosses the gap nonetheless.

There is a ring on the ground next to his feet.

The spatter of silvery liquid on the wall has something written on it.

Lukas waits for the others to move forward, and tries to move along in the center of the pack.
