Lukas looks up for a second and nods to the new comer.

Mr. Jilly walks up to the door that Bridger assaults. He tries the doorknob without success. It would open out, if it weren't rusted shut. The hinges are not visible from this side, of course.
The window on the door is covered by a sheet of paper, also on the other side.

A loud clanging noise resonates from behind the door, masked by Bridger's striking against the metal.

The fabric is blank on both sides, and coarse.
It probably came from some article of clothing.

Whoever you are, do you think your cane is strong enough to break the window?

Lukas shrugs and an pockets the cloth. We need to get out of here.
Noting the commotion by the door, he moves to examine the spot light.

Bridger gives his best psychopathic grin.
"I don't need a cane!"
Bash in the glass, heedless of any harm to myself.

The reinforced glass does not break, nor does the paper on the other side fall off.
Bridger's hand bounces back from the panel, and it does hurt a bit.

Another clang and a woman shouting with anger from behind the door are accompanied by a distant explosion.

The floodlight, set up to the immediate right of the door, illuminates the ground and wall opposite.
It is bolted to the floor and made of what is presumably steel.
It, as previously mentioned, is dim and flickers erratically.
Up close, a crack in the glass is visible, as well as a screwed-shut panel in the back.

Jack evaluates the situation and comes up with an idea! Outta the way! Let me try to get the door open! He flexes his muscles then grabs the floodlight to try ,with all of his strength, to pull it out of the floor!

Boxcar Jack massages his scruffy jaw.

"Don't any a' you care about why we're all in here right now? This sounds like some kinda' commie experiment."

He looks himself over for any new tattoos, sewn-up incisions, etc.

"Anyone else want me ta look ya over?" He wiggles his fingers.

"And what about that cloth? Did it come from any of our clothes? Hold it up to the light to see if there's any a' that un-viz-ee-bul ink."

The floodlight twists and shrieks metallically until Mr. Austin wrenches the upper half from the stand.
It does not shut off, but starts making a loud whirring noise.
It is frigid to the touch.
Wires and strands of red thread hang from the torn-off portion.

Jack finds no tattoos, but he does find a small incision just above the bridge of his nose.
It is clean and smooth.
Touching it gives him a minor headache.

The noise behind the door stops.

"Dey put sumpin' in my braaaain!" Boxcar shouts. He points to the incision and stares at each of the others in turn. Do they also have one?

Take off my shoe and put it on my hand so I can strike someone with it really hard. Old hobo trick.
