How do you code the colored words?

I made a thread about colorful words, but the Urist told me about technical stuff I don't know about? I don't even know gobbos about coding, I just play Dwarf Fortress! All I want to do is just type in sweet magma colored words.  :D

Click reply to this message. See in the "compose message" toolbar there are some drop down menus? The one on the right says "change colour". Using it will make some bbcode appear like

Code: [Select]
[color=orange][/color]
Typing in the middle of the nested brakces will cause the text to be whatever colour you picked when you hit post.
