One of our scouts stumbled upon this station... and this creature. Both have been documented.
A small boarding party from our scout has boarded the station to attempt to identify the origin of it.
A massive step forward in human knowledge, wheels are turning now that non-human life has been confirmed in this galaxy and sentient alien life existed at one time.
Before any significant studies could be made on the station the lights flickered back to life startling the on-board scientists, an impossible screeching then emanated from the outside of the station and alarms began to come to life, in moments to scientists it seemed as if though the station had begun to rock. The orbiting scout radioed in that the space creature had begun to devour the station and that the boarding team had little time to make it off the death-trap. Forced to leave most of their equipment behind, the scientists had no choice but to depressurize an airlock and escape using their suit jetpacks (it's the future we have cool space jetpacks now, Benevolent President demands you deal with it).
A full report has been made and extreme caution is advised when dealing with space creatures in the future.
more signs of intelligent life have been encountered, in the pursuit of science the lucky scout has permitted a large landing party to investigate the ruins.
Although the ruins were largely empty, a small armory was found in near-pristine condition. While most of the technology is still under study, our scientists have managed to reverse-engineer a defense system. While initial weapon testing determined that the system was in-fact damaged a weapon malfunction resulting in several rocket ignitions found the system to be an advanced form of countermeasures already employed on our ancient naval vessels.
Dear God! Our scouts have encountered humanoid life directly outside (and south) of Terra, fortunately they seem to lack many of the technological advancements our society has pioneered. A fierce debate about our foreign policy has ensued.
