Joining our glorious senate.

Pax Terra!

Sounds like a fun idea, I'm up for being part of the senate.

I'll watch, not sure if I'll participate.  My track record on that end is horrible anyways.

Hmm, a race of engineers and researchers. Could definitely use those skills to our advantage if we were to assimilate them into the republic.

Yes, we also receive some nice empire-wide bonuses if they form a significant part of our population!

However, we could also be evil overlords. We'll see what happens in the suggestions. Official and Unofficial.

EDIT: Also, as we go along here I'll go back and fix my grammar and try to put some better RP in!

EDITEDIT: Speaking of RP, if someone wants to write a little story for the space-slug encounter I would be very happy with that!

Representative Creamcorn:

"Turn there spaceships and colonies into stardust! There's not enough room in our local system to support two colonies! And if there is, what do we need competition for? To slow down our own progress?"

Representative Iituem

Representative Creamcorn has my support for this first contact situation.  We must present an appearance of strength, learn and understand the ways of these spacefarers and then perform the first strike against them with crushing force - it is only a matter of time before they do the same!  We cannot stand by while aliens destroy our homes, our wives, our daughters.  We must take action!

The same applies to these "Kadians".  Earth struggles to support its overburdened population, and here is a world ripe for the taking!  Why terraform, why spend countless trillions preparing an Earth-like world when one exists?  The anthropologists, the intellectuals, claim they are "superior", they are "highly advanced" and "gifted scientists", but they have not even managed to leave their own world!  Would God have created a superior race, then kept them bound while his chosen people ascended to the stars?  I say not!

If we integrate these aliens into our society, what will it mean to be human, to be sapient?  Will we become second class citizens in our own homes?  If these aliens are as advanced as the intellectuals claim, will they settle for second best, or even equality?  I say no!  It is a fundamental of nature to conquer, to master, and they would take our advances and make slaves of us all!

I strongly urge the House to annihilate these abominations with alacrity, and take their resource rich world, perfect for human habitation, to support our own people.  Billions exist in starvation and poverty on Earth, unable to survive due to our limited resources and failing ecosystem.  Are we to doom these poor souls just because of paltry concerns for the sake of a handful of ivory tower intellectuals who want to keep a new toy?  The issue here is no less than the survival of our very species!  Can you live with the knowledge that through your inaction you doomed humanity?  I think not.

Representatives, vote for the eradication of these aliens.  For Hope.  For Earth.  For Humanity.

And as a standing position, I am applying for a Senatorial role with any newly established positions; especially Kadian once it has been suitably reformed.
