AND THUS IT WAS KNOWN THAT IT TOOK ME TWICE TWO WEEKS TO FINISH
The Return of the King. There are still roughly 150 pages of appendices...but I'll say that I'm officially done reading the story of the ring.
I have to say, the journey of Frodo and Sam through Mordor was amazingly written. It was painful to read, hopeless, more than a little depressing, and that's why it was so good. Tolkien did an amazing job of emulating what a defeating experience that would be. And then there was much rejoicing, and happiness, and gold and riches, and majesty, and sentences with a massive amount of the word and in the, and that part of the story was a bit difficult to get through. Everything was just a little bit to perfect and wonderful.
The bit at the end about the Shire was interesting, and not something I clearly remember in the movie. Nor do I remember Frodo leaving to the Grey Havens with Bilbo and Gandalf, but it's been awhile so what do I know.

Now...I actually want to read some non-fiction, but of course the library is closed until some time in April, so I've no hope of getting any new books until then. I
suppose I've got some stuff to read though...Unrelatedly, we all know this whole 52 books thing is a total joke at this point for me. I'm keeping at it at this point just to keep track of my reading habits throughout the year. You never know though, now that I've made my way through LOTR perhaps I shall speed up.
Nah.
