Round 3!
Spoiler: 15/52 (click to show/hide)
Currently reading through the entire Heritage of Shannara series. Halfway through the third book. Unfortunately, my reading time has been cut into by starting school and picking up the flute again, so I'll have to slow down.

Challenge accepted. Let's see how much literature I can devour over the next week.

Also, I read 13 Reasons Why a while ago, but I was too lazy to post about it.

Ninjedit: Wait. My school's library is closed right now.

Well, once it opens again, I will read every single book I find interesting.

Every.

Single.

Book.

No fair. I actually have to do work, now that I've left the formal school system.
Nonetheless...
I believe the phrase is "Come at me, bro?"

...I think I might be about to find someone who reads more than me.

Hah. Last year I read every single book that was available to me. Of course, I didn't have much else to do. Now that I have internet, I'm not reading as much.

But that will change quite soon. My new school's library probably has far more than 52 books.

Dunno what I'm going to read next.  I'm partway through five different books.  At least I'm starting to catch up...

Finally read a book this year. Mockingjay which I had to read again after the recent movie adaption O_o It's neat to see PTSD played out in books when usually in the fantasy genre it's more "chop people up! now we have gold! let's chop some more people up! ahhahahaha!"

...Good book. Some people say it's the least polished of the three, but I like it best tbh.

Thissa a gud book indeed.

Part I liked:
Quote
[K]indess is invincible, provided it's sincere - not ironic or an act. What can even the most vicious person do if you keep treating him with kindness and gently set him straight - if you get the chance - correcting him cheerfully at the exact moment that he's trying to do you harm. "No, no my friend. That isn't what we're here for. It isn't me who's harmed by that. It's you." And show him, gently and without pointing fingers, that it's so. That bees don't behave like this - or any other animals with a sense of community. And not ex cathedra or to impress third parties, but speaking directly. Even if there are not other people around.

Eventually the library will run out of Terry Brooks, and on that day I will shout for joy, for I will stop having to read them in the hope that he will do something original.

Now reading: The Winds of Change - Asimov

Saw those Shanara books in my old library too. Didn't strike me as very interesting though so I never read them.

The very first one is extremely LotR-derivative. The rest of the first series is quite good; the rest of them are quite close to rehashings of the previous ones, sometimes with minor modifications. They're all quite well-written and have decent characterisation etc., but I can now make a fairly good guess at how all the events in the books will pan out.
