Gifter's Delight: Everybody REALLY Hates Rom
« on: December 25, 2013, 01:15:02 am »

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Kwazy Kwanza (don't sue me, Fox), Superb Saturnalia, Happy Holidays overall, and welcome to the latest variation on Looter's Delight!

What do you think Santa's Elves do after finishing off the Christmas rush? They enjoy a nice battle to the not-technically-death using leftovers, overstock, spare supplies, malfunctioning gifts, factory equipment, and special surprises from Santa. No one is seriously harmed (at least, not so seriously that the healing pits can't patch you back up), it's just a sort of enhanced version of the feelings humans experience whilst shopping between Black Friday and Christmas Eve.

[GreatWyrmGold] gets a little crown. May it forever be his mark of Cain; let no one argue pointless subjects with him lest they receive the same.

Largely to avoid (or at least minimize) min-maxed characters, I limited the amount of major ability shifts you can have. (Think about it: +++ means that you never fail or even have only partial success non-opposed rolls, unless they're unusually difficult, and --- means you need an extremely easy task to avoid failure.)
Elves come pretty standard; they can have up to one stat with a magnitude 3 (either +++ or ---), two with magnitude 2 (++ or --), and need at least one stat with magnitude 0 (0).
Your characters have two stats at this magnitude.
While I'm at it, you don't need to max out your stats.

I'll start tomorrow. I hoped to have six, but five works.

Sorry about not starting yet. I've been sick and/or busy with holiday-related stuff and hence haven't finished the loot gift generator. As compensation, you can see what I have so far here.

The first five elves enter the arena, unwrapping their gifts.

[3] Twink unwraps some kind of weird metal thing. It seems to be...ears? With spiky metal bits? They spring at his face, ripping off and replacing his current set.
GREETINGS, TWINK.

[4+2] Raron unwrapped a paper airplane memo thing, tipped with a nail, which promptly began flying about quickly.

[4+1] Rom's gift is...a bottle of eggnog. Ooh.

[1-1] FedUps's gift seems to be chainmail made of candy corn. Tasty, if no one wears it first of course. It has a number of longer, slenderer points sticking inwards. I wonder why...

[3-2] Markland discovers a nice helping of pudding. Figgy pudding. Made with figs. Which were made into pudding. Seems safe enough!

Spoiler: Combatants (click to show/hide)

P.S.

That's not a rhetorical question. I'm open to suggestions on powers and such, as well as other such things.
