Missing Letters and Graphic Sets

I have a question regarding the bug where you will randomly get empty spaces in the text. Is this something that is a result of using a Graphic Set or is this also something that happens in plain vanilla Dwarf Fortress? In many ways I prefer the Graphics Set to the ASCII but if this issue isn't present in the ASCII I would probably revert back to it. It should also be noted that I never play with the window at the default launch size, I usually maximize it and while I am willing to give up the graphics set I am not willing to make the window smaller.

The page you linked says it's a problem with TrueType, so it's not related to graphics sets at all.

I wasn't sure whether TrueType was something that was used by vanilla or if it was only used by Graphic Sets. Past couple of days have been somewhat hectic so I don't know if it's massive ignorance on my part but thanks for the reply.

I've only ever had that with Phoebus tileset. All the other tilesets I've tried have been fine unless I've minimized and then maximized DF. (Or resized its window)

TrueType is a vanilla thing. You can fix the problem by pressing F12.
