Vampire/necromancer is that possible?
« on: December 23, 2013, 06:57:12 pm »

So can I become a vamp/necro. I tried it already I know that I'm a vampire because I have to feed on blood to quench my thirst and I read a necro book and got reanimate corpse power, but I still get thirsty.
There was no slab in the tower or anything so I don't know if I did the necro thing write and this is my first time trying to become a necro Mage. One more thing how do I find an entrance to hell because my character is quite good.

Well, you can become vampire necromancer. Or werebeast necromancer. You just can't be werevamp. Just read slab or books you will find in tower. By the way, if you will become necromancer before trying to vampify youself, nothing good will happen, because you will count as 'not mortal'. That prevents werecurses and vampire blood from affecting you.

Entrance to hell is really hard to find. The best method would be retiring for a bit and digging entrance in fortress mode. Alternatively, go to the third level of caverns and walk there for quite a bit (I really advise you to use DFHack 'reveal' option to avoid going mad).

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.

Is the word Thirsty written in blue or dark red?

I am trying to make chickens lay bees as eggs. So far it only produces a single "Tame Small Creature" when a hen lays bees.
Honestly at the time, I didn't see what could go wrong with crowding 80 military Dwarves into a small room with a necromancer for the purpose of making bacon.

If you're planning on necroing the demon corpses, you can't, I've tried.

It's red and I already know how to drink blood from other creatures. I took on 15 kobolds by myself with my legendary 46 wrestling skill and axe skill. I choked each of them out and pelted them with fisher berries until they died and after I sucked their blood.

I wanted to see how my zombie rocks would do against the demons. Rocs are surprisingly easy to kill took one hit to kill each.

Becoming a necromancer doesn't remove the bloodsucker token, so it's no surprise that you're still getting blood-thirsty. Or am I missing something here?

IIRC you must become vampire first and necro second for you to be able to be both. It's also a lot easier that way

I did it in the opposite order about a week ago.
I went necro to avoid needing sleep, food, or water, then maxed all my physical attributes, then went vampire for the skill boost. I have to suck blood or it says "thirsty", but i don't need sleep, nor do i appear to drown.

In the newest version, vampires deny being vampires. Try face-stabbing instead.
