The priestess quietly simmered to herself and left to sleep. Quietly, Kannii and Wesley finished their drinks and retired to their seperate chambers. Alone in her room, Kannii slid the rough table infront of the door and lay down on the scrathy matress. She sang quietly to herself before hse drifted into sleep.

"And the spider looked around, and there was nothing but bones
She'd eaten them all, no matter her friends or her foes
And she laughed and she smiled this was truly her place
And devoured herself, so none wuld know how she'd taste..."

Sleep lightly.

Head to whatever room I'll be sleeping in. Remove a piece of paper, prick my finger, and sketch the rune:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
on it before my finger heals. Then, clean my finger, set the paper near me, and sleep.

Morning comes to the sound of heavy knocking on the group’s doors. the barman knocks on each in turn, before calling out.
‘Hey, guys, the boss’ll be in in an hour or two, so it would be best if you made yourselves scarce.’

My dreams are not unlike yours - they long for the safety, and break like a glass chandelier.
But there's laughter and oh there is love, just past the edge of our fears.
And there's chaos when push comes to shove, but it's music to my ears.

Sorrel rose swiftly, chased by dreams of flashing knives and falling blossoms. The smell of warm bread and the sound a man makes when his throat is cut. A dim vestige of the people she might have known-or perhaps what she had imagined them to be. A mother, a father, and a sister...no names, no faces-only silhouettes.

The Priestess sat to meditate on this-and stretch her legs and back, but gained no insight-some secrets were not for the living mind to bear.

...

She was in her customary spot at one of the tables not long after, waiting for the others to rise. She was eating a piece of honeyed-bread, fruit, and nuts-a simple meal, from her own pack-she suspected the inn keeper was not the sort to offer breakfast.

While she ate, she drew the memories of her dream-with a small notebook and a piece of charcoal, a gift given to her by a young girl. Her work today was a storm of cherry blossoms on a lonely dirt road, though what is obscured she knew not-or would not admit. One might guess the blossoms could perhaps be blood in the air...the moon is full in the sky, lit against skeletal tree-the last of the flowers had fallen. It was a very cold thing to look upon, from the vantage of lying on the ground as if struck there.

Quietly, Kannii emerged behind the priestess. "Drawing, priestess?"
Giggling, she filched a slice of fruit and tossed it in her mouth, sliding into the seat opposite.
"I don't think the others have risen yet, so we might as well converse. Did you sleep well, milady?"

Rolling out of his bed with a thump, Gerwick takes the time to check that everything he owns is still with him before going out. Heading to the bar, he will sit next to Sorrel."Oh, morning you two. I didn't really take you for much of an artist. Funny how people have little things about them like that." And he will unwrap a small peice of cheese and a chunk of bread from his bag and start eating.

Wesley rises as well walking to a seat, sitting, and then flopping face down on the table.

"My dreams were heavy with omen-or perhaps merely the weight of the firewater. They were troubled with shade and substance-fire and blood. I did not rest well. Why do you ask?"

"I did not take myself for one, until I put a piece of charcoal in my hand. It seemed...natural, to me. It is like that old saying-once you've ridden a horse, the knowledge never truly leaves you. I'm not quite sure where I learned. I have no memory of those times."

Kannii frowned. "Mere politeness, milady. It is often customary to return the question, but no matter."

"By all means, go ahead then, if you have something to say. What was in your own minds unwaking eye to trouble you so? Or perhaps you dreamt of blessings and fortune?" The priestess responded flatly, not wishing for yet another souring of her mood. She hadn't even finished breakfast yet.

Wesley groans.
"Please don't argue in the morning. I don't sleep well on land."

"I was just enjoying my breakfast. I had no desire to start yet another dance of false umbrage and manufactured politesse. She inquired curtly, I answered wearily, she takes offense, I take offense, around and around we go. I am already wearied and I have just awoken.

If it is becoming a true bother to you all, please do tell. I will gladly leave this group for the sake of it's harmony, and forsake what might have been. I suspect all lots would be improved roundly by it."

Kannii looked impassively at the priestess for a moment, then shook her head. She slid from her chair and went outside.
