Kannii grinned. "You can talk to the man we came here about the task, can't you? I'm feeling to urge to... spar."

She strode forward. "Hail, lady mira!" she called to the victorius mira. "You have a lot of skill with your blades. May I have the honour of a contest?"

Wesley sighs and begins to look for the captain... after watching Kannii spar.

Krom watches, continuing to idly doodle half-runes.

"I feel that this can only end badly... Hopefully Kannii doesn't take defeat to badly." Gerwick watch's Krom idly for a second then looks over to Kannii and the Mira.

Krom chuckles.
"I hope she doesn't lose too fast."

"Well, if anything, lets hope it will inspire us to better ourselves. Or at least teach us not to challenge people out of our league."

"That's probably the captain. I wonder what she thinks of pirates..."

 ’A contest?’ The Mira grins as if humoured. ‘If you mean to ask to spar, I’ll oblige - after all, you wouldn’t be the first I’ve beaten.’ Her tone carries humour rather than smugness, but seems assured all the same. Her swords leave their sheaths before a response can be made, but she holds them steady, and nods at her opponent. ’Would you care to count us in? On three, if you would.’

Kannii smiled happily. For the first time, she dropped her hood. Her hair was brown and drawn into a tight ponytail. Her left ear was missing half the upper part. She took position out of swordreach and nodded her head respectfully.

"There is no shame in defeat, only in a duty undone. Three... two... one..." and "Go!" had just left her lips as she burst into motion. Her daggers span into her hands and sang as she darted towards her opponent. A dagger thrust - no, a bluff! At the last nanosecond she darted to the side, striking with one dagger to lightly score the neck - carefully aimed to not be injurious - while the other attempted to ward off the blades of the mira.

Hit or miss, she leapt back, sand billowing as her cloak brushed the ground.

The Mira barely flinches as the dagger passes towards her (10+5v9+?). At the last possible moment, a blade rises up to meet it, and the point comes to rest a fingers width from her cheek. (9+?v15+3+2) The second of her blades rises to meet her foes belly, but meets nothing but thin air as the woman leaps backwards, small puffs of dust rising at her feet.
 ’Not bad, not bad.’ The Mira laughs gently. ’Let’s hope you can keep it up.’ (12+?v3+3) With that, the warrior kicks across the ground, a pile of dust forming at the edge of her motion, and in a smooth flowing motion she turns the kick into a duck - her return to standing swiftly followed by a handful of dust to the eyes of the sellsword, causing her eyes to fill with tears. ((-2 to actions involving sight))

Warily, Kannii backed off, scrubbing at the dust in her eyes, though life thrummed through her veins. This was the sole thing she'd been permitted for live for, and combat was almost all that was of the person that might have been.

She span her blades in her hand as they circled each other, one grinning like a wolf, the other smiling gently. A heartbeat trigger; Kannii slipped in with a flurry of slashes before she backed off again. Once more, one dagger was the offence; the other a Kilaani steel ward agaisnt the mira's counterattacks, Kannii's body weaving and swaying out of the way of slashes and stabs.

Wesley lets out a general cheer at the display.
"This is just like watching the captain fight!"
