So, test subjects are trying to parry the ground?

Yes, probably. Someone needs to draw/make a comic of this...

It's all very epic. Jump off a tower towards a spike pit, and at the last moment attempt to parry the planet.

Parrying something that large would explain the experience reward. I mean, just think of the CR!

... I'll get my xX☼pig tail fiber coat☼Xx.

If XP gain depends on world size... that would be hilarious!

The mountainhome has far too many degenerates too deal with by itself, so it sends out minor nobles to establish penal colonies across the world.

It's too bad they can't successfully dodge the world instead.

Can you imagine a counterstrike? This could have resulted in the first dwarven space program or VERY fast mining! "The earth was hit by the axe and the part goes flying off in an arc!"

I tried it in my fort with wooden training spears at the bottom. went from competent swordsdwarf to legendary. 2z lvls. apparently all you need is a sword, a mail skirt and a shield for the glitch to work.

Turns out this does not work with any other kind of trap. Aka: Boulder traps (just gets crushed after landing), cage traps (captured), and I did not test weapon traps.

Nice find! Has anyone confirmed whether this works with upright spikes? Having dropped a ton of goblins on upright spikes (but never spears) in the past, I've never noticed anything like this happen.

If there are multiple spears in the trap, is there one XP gain event, or more than one? If garbage data is used for the XP gain, does each spear grab new garbage data?

I assume more spears would be overkill, I mean you are already creating armok level soldiers just by dropping someone and having them parry the entire earth.

It's still worth doing the science in order to understand the glitch as well as possible. If I understand this glitch properly, danger rooms are better for making supersoldiers, anyway, since they train more skills and create much less risk of injury.

Yeah, but this is much faster.

Unbelievable. I assumed the soldiers were parrying the spear, and some factor allowed it to get enough experience for the surrounding weapon traps to also be parried, providing a mini-danger room moment. Instead we have soldiers parrying the very world, and presumably gaining experience because of its mass.

Now that I've said it, this does sound like Dwarf Fortress...

Danger rooms may be safer, and provide better results over time, but this is more awesome. Besides, getting level 89 from a single fall? Typical legendary soldiers are maxed around 25-30? Science should be done to see if the level difference makes a difference in combat.
