Overview: A demake of Darkest Dungeon, the upcoming indie squad management roguelike about the psychology of dungeon crawling--as seen on the Gameboy. Guide your wanderers through 10 horrifying floors of perilous adventure, keep them from driving each other mad, and discover the dark secrets of the DANKEST DUNGEON!
Content note: Contains references to alcoholism, death, gore, creepy eldritch things, mental illness, an antiquated misogynist slur, and large amounts of abusive language.
Hints:When exploring, use the arrows to navigate on the map in the bottom right corner. If you can't move, hit Cancel until the Map is highlighted again.
Positioning is important in battle! It determines what skills you can use, and whether your foes can target you. If someone's wounded, you may want to move them away from the front line!
Characters have a Stress meter, which is built up by enduring traumatic events and critical hits. When it gets too high, they develop debilitating Quirks. If they have too many Quirks, they may die! Check Quirks with the Mask button.
If your Stress is getting high, you can drink a Flask or Wine. Too much drinking will make you sloppy in combat, though!
The game does have an end, but it might be tough to reach. Even if you don't make it, you can still get a High Score based on the value of loot you get.

Unfortunately there's still a few bugs we're chasing, so you have the unofficial unofficial version in your hands right now. We weren't able to get to the Character Selection and Shop interface, so you start with items and a random party of characters. For now, you have to restart if you don't like your party. We also don't have Camps working in the latest build, so you'll need to heal using items and skills. You'll have an updoot tomorrow when we post the beta build to LD, and we'll keep letting you know as we modify the build.
Future features you can expect to see soon:
- More monsters!
- More events!
- More creepy-ass ambient music and pretty backgrounds!
- Character select and starting gear!
- Deeper camp mechanic!
-
Retro EXTREMELY MODERN character string save feature!
