Here's the orders for Fall 1901. I apologize for being past the deadline, but I've been without internet for the last day and a half or so, which I had not foreseen. England did not turn them in on time and I had to go track him down, but we do, finally, have orders for everyone. I must say the orders this turn are rather...unorthodox.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I mean...You could easily have taken Portugal as well with your fleet in the Mid-Atlantic, giving yourself an extra build?

I mean...You could easily have taken Portugal as well with your fleet in the Mid-Atlantic, giving yourself an extra build?
Good point! Along with me being new, there are reasons why I didn't want to risk moving my fleet out of the MAO that may or may not be reasonable.

Good point! Along with me being new, there are reasons why I didn't want to risk moving my fleet out of the MAO that may or may not be reasonable.

Yeah, if I were France I'd definitely have gone for Portugal and certainly tried to keep Germany and England out of Belgium. I assume in the war-rooms people worked out some bizarre pact that everyone gets one build this turn. No treaty like that is going to last very long.

Having run about half a dozen Diplomacy games on bay12, I know how much of a pain it is when players drop out.

I'll volunteer for a waiting list in case someone drops out, even if it's a mostly lost cause.

Fancying myself as a spreader of the hobby and seasoned mentor of the game, I'll also gladly stand by for advice via PM.

edit: except for that Austria, not even I can turn that around.

it is bad etiquette to openly discuss games as they are ongoing, an analysis from an outsider might unveil plans that a player is not seeing, and would not have seen if not for the analysis, or vice versa, a miosinterpretation of the board could still be used in an arguement.




however, to hell with etiquette, I'd say turkey has highest chances of winning the game right now, assuming that italy doesn't get it's shit together. Right now, either Italy is a brilliant player, who has manufactured the board as it stands and will take amazing advantage of it, or has made a common beginner mistake, not knowing what the hell.


Whomever wins, he'll likely be one of the three nations with current access to the mediterran, and france only by sheer courtesy of england and germany. England, Germany and Russia seemingly went in without much forethought. Neither holds an actual advantage, so whatever is happening there, it will take LONG, but this game, even more than it is about deception, is about speed.


That's why I love playing germany. It may seem like a really disadvantageous position, but germany pulls all the levers. If done right, germany should always end the first year with 3 builds. 2 builds is only a compromise for those without confidence.

yeah, but bouncing means that your fellow players did something you have not agreed on with them (unless you literaly agreed on it), which already means you are in for a world of hurt. As germany, you have great cards, but you need to deal them well. If anyone dares to bounce you, you better saw that coming and already made plans with the neighbours to take that fool down.
