it's absolutely hilarious. every visible alliance is, where the choice for being allied with somebody else instead is given, the worse choice for one of the allied parties.

it appears certain nations have gone a great deal manipulating people into horribly bad deals, or at least some people should have taken more effort to make allies and not just leave them to their enemies.

then again, the world wide coordination is so...well...uncoordinated, I do wonder if there are even alliances beyond "lets both fight that guy".

Things would go so much better for me if there were even one other player who would even respond to my PMs.  :'(

yeah, it's something I have seen a lot with the bay12ers. They are rather uncommunicative. In a game about communication.

We're too smart to trust those crazy Bay12ers.

On a more serious note, I contacted basically everyone at the start of the game. I try to do that. Past that...it depends.

another problem is the lack of trust. it sounds crazy, but the greatest mistake you can make in the game is to simply not believe anything anyone sais out of sheer paranoia. it robs the players of any and all objectivity, and categoricaly declaring anything a lie just because it came from someone else is the hallmark of a loser in this game.

likewise, lies are the worst way to get ahead. what one needs is a perfectly plausible ...interpretation of the truth. only something that raises a very valid and logical point can really get through all the paranoia - given that the ears receiving it are not full of noob-wax

I do my best to trust people and convince them with facts. I also try to not backstab them until the right moment.

I'm doubtful of my ability to determine the best moment, though...

well, I don't know the entire expense of your plan, but... to say the least, I do not see any long-term advantage for germany in what is going on

but well, I am sure france can think of a reason why this was for the best :P

Hey, I know I've been unresponsive...but so have several other people. It's getting really, really unwieldy to run the game because I have to chase after people every single turn. I'm thinking about shutting down.

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.
