Personally, I am currently enjoying the alpher. For an alpha, you now, it's rather smooth. I've seen worse alphas..A few slightly better though. Meh

Just played about an hour an a half of the standalone. Less loot, but the looting is far more interesting to do than in the mod. Havnt found a gun yet though..

I'm gutted they've released it this month as there's no way I can afford it, literally spent my entire month's student loan on presents for family - I'll have to wait until late Jan/Feb before I can even think about buying it!

Damn you, DayZ!

So the devs have said they're sticking to the minecraft model where the price will only go up as development progresses.  I don't think there will be a sale unfortunately.

Mothercorporal. I would honestly convert to Gaben if this went on at least a -25% sale, as I've done before with BNW and EU4.

Tell me, as a man living somewhere where 25 euro equals three days worth of work, is this really worth getting?

Will definitely be buying this some time. I didn't play the mod a great deal, but enjoyed it when I did and watched a lot of Let's Plays.

Does anyone feel like teaming up at all? The game is awesome but I keep getting killed by groups of players.

Thinking about it, the only problem i had with dayz was bugged zombies. Are the zombies in the standalone as bugged?

So, from what I've seen so far, it's just like the mod, with more rooms and customization, and an annoying "arms/weapons set to up or down" mechanic. Can anyone correct me on this?

Pretty much 100% right.

So I used some Christmas money to buy it and I'm neither impressed nor disappointed. It's what I expected at this stage of development, it looks nice and runs smooth but there are evidently the same issues that plagued the mod version.

I managed to find some servers that frown on PvP too - so I've been using those to enjoy the mechanics without worrying about some n00b killing me every time I restart for no other reason than he likes 'pew pew'.
