Sorry about that, all working fine now.

Seems some agents were trying to escape a bombed star and triggered an anomaly.

Hehe, I unilaterally turned the entire universe against Quake IV and Sheb.

You are Zagata?

If by the entire universe you mean two people, then yes good job.

More like two and a half, Etaru gave Agiran the go-ahead even if she hasn't joined the hostilities so far.

Well, the only people that attacked us were Agiran and Digen. That's two. (And Agiran just signed a peace treaty). That's just a big less than "the entire universe".

GG, I abdicated. I really couldn't deal with some of the game quirks anymore. That's all there really is to it. I guess the final straw was those supply ships randomly deciding 'I'd like to get captured instead of retreating'. The retreat mechanic drives me up the fucking wall I can't even begin to describe it.

You have 0 control over how it happens, and basically no clue either as to why it happens. Oh, your fleet just didn't feel like sticking around? Ok. Thanks for wasting 20 hours of my time. Other times, they literally will refuse to retreat, no matter what. Lack of sensors probably, but come on man. There's a cruiser bombing my planet for 2 turns, and 2 other fleets in the same system, who are also in retreat. Even a braindead dog would know it's not a place to stick around for. I know it's a PITA to code the behavior into the game, but seriously, having no option to 'jump and retreat', or unretreat into the same system, just makes the game a churn I couldn't do anymore.

There is a jump and retreat option.

So, just started in the real game (not the training one), will see how it pans out.
