"Search the area, we need to find out why they were here."

Search, did the Shaman drop his necklace?

Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

"They didn't seem too difficult because they were the lowest of the low."
Look for any symbols I might recognize.

I look around and say
if there are demons in here, what the hell is the bandit chief thinking!
Even I know better than that

Algarius searches for their necklaces, but doesn't find them. He does, however, find two rings, evidently left by the Uthgur. You don't recognize it, but Caterina does. She's quite familiar with the symbols, able to identify them as being Rings of Dimensional Restrain. At the will of the caster, it can activate an effect exactly like Dimensional Anchor, stopping the creature in question from being affected by anything like Gate, Teleport, and so on.

I guess we look for a way to venture further onward.

The party heads to the yawning tunnel you spotted before, but it seems odd. You'd swear that you were no more than 30-40 feet underground, even accounting for the slope of the hill, but when the cave opens up, you'd estimate from the rough patches of softly glowing plant life on the walls that the ceiling was at least 100 feet up, if not taller. The cavern is extraordinarily expansive, and none of the walls are visible, save those that the tunnel was carved into. About 250 feet away, you see brief flashes of multicolored light.

A woman's voice - gentle and smooth. "Dear companions, it seems this cave has undergone some kind of expansion. So as not to put all our eggs in one basket... have no fear. I'll be around."

Algarius slid into the shadows like a fish into the deeps, out ahead the party, out of sight and out of hearing. It kept an open eye for traps or anything of note.
