"Now hold on, companions, before you all go to sleep. Should we not talk to our new friend? Make sure he's not got any more companions scurrying about?"
Shaking it's head, the figure squatted next to the bound bandit. Whith a cherrful whistle, it pulled the sword from the bandit's leg.

If that didn't wake him, pour water onto his face from the waterskin

Abraham begins casting Peels, and as the final word of the phrase is chanted...
Nothing happens. Unfortunately, magic doesn't have a reverse button.
Algarius tries to wake the bandit by yanking out the sword. He stirs, but doesn't wake. He follows this up by pouring out some of his waterskin onto him. This is succesful, and the bandit tries to get up. He then sees you, and mutters something about wishing he was unconscious again.
Dawnstar, meanwhile, volunteers for taking the next watch.

"No sass," Algarius growled, "Only answers, or my orcish friend there will roast you on the fire and eat you still screaming."
Ask him questions:
  • Where did him and his frined come from?
  • How did they know about us?
  • How many other bandits are there?
  • Where is the keepsake stolen from the church?

Caterina finally wakes from her stupor-like sleep, and finds blood flooding the ground, an angry orc, and a very terrified and bound bandit. So yeah, a normal morning for an adventurer.
Algarius begins interrogating the bandit, with threats of being eaten by an orc.
"We came from the Flooded Marsh caves, about two hour's travel down the road. Me and Robert over there... Well, just me now, I guess, we didn't know much about you. It was the chief. Guy's got a couple of flumphs were his brain should be, if you know what I mean. He started drawing a buncha runes, and saying weird things. I dunno what they mean, but whatever it was, it summoned something. We'll see shadows in well lit rooms, and Chief started talking to himself, or that...thing, I guess. From what I overheard in a 'conversation', the thing heard of you, and wanted you dead, quick-like. As for the rest of our ranks, I think we've got, eh, 8 or so warriors not including Chief who know the hilt of the sword from the blade, and 11 newbloods, who joined a few months ago and haven't quite worked out how to swing without hitting themselves. I'm guessin' that by keepsake you mean that weird necklace we took from a church? As much as I hated to desecrate that, Chief's orders and all. Those who disobey orders tend to disappear. Some say they get to meet the shadow thing real well, if you know what I mean. Anyways, Chief always wore it, and muttered something about a ritual with it. That's all I know. Please don't eat me."

Catarina yawns and curses lightly as she eyes the carnage.
"Were we attacked? ...And, from what I gather, there're enemies who know of our existence and we're targets? Great..."
