Turn 2
Eric kicks in the door to his right (I wasn't sure which one you meant as neither of the nearby closed doors were on your left) to reveal an empty hallway.

Petro steps back and draws his bill. This does nothing to snap the man out of his frightened and confused state. Something tickles the back of Petro's mind, it might be a thought.

The black-haired man out-front runs from the building and shouts to the hastily approaching cleric: "Help! Bandits!"

Agree, plus that's about the LAST thing *I* want to see from this kind of game - author spending valuable development time on useless graphics.

Out of my way, then!
Yell at the man to open the barrier (It has to be openable, to let toll-payers use the bridge?). Charge further down and into the door.

Turn 3
Petro swings his bill at the man (Critical Hit! 42 damage) and it bites deep, pressing the man against the floor and knocking his shoulders against the floor. The man's eyes flicker wildly and his attempts at speech come out as choked sputters. Petro's bill is now unready.

Eric runs to the end of the hallway and prepares to open the door.

Brother Stormchaser runs to the toll gate.
"Out of my way, then!" he shouts "Open the barrier!"
The dark-haired man pulls a small peg from behind the toll gate and it moves slightly, obviously unlocked. He prepares to open it.

He spots a black-clothed man, probably a thief, on a rope about two feet away from the roof. He also sees something move in the upstairs window.

Turn 3.5
Suddenly, the clandestine agents find themselves warped to the snowy peak of a mountain, standing alone in a sea of snow-capped trees. They have no weapons, but also find themselves almost incapable of forming a hostile thought towards anyone or anything.

Something thuds into the snow behind them and they turn as one to see a snow-sled, loaded with a large, lumpy sack and pulled by eight horned dire wolves coming towards them. From the sleigh they hear a voice call:
"Now, Slasher! Now, Biter! Now, Ripper, and Tearin'! On, Grizzle! On, Shadow! On, Wander and Stalkin'!"
An old man, probably some kind of warrior judging by his build, steps off and brushes the snow off his red robe as he counts his wolves.
"Where's Bloody"
He turns and finally turns and acknowledges the assembled agents.
"Merry Christams!"

Glade, the Baron of the Eternal Forest, runs to the old man after seeing something shiny in the sack. As he reaches for the sack a firm, gloved hand grabs his shoulder and a strange-looking red robe is shoved into his arms.
"You seem like your eager to help me hand out gifts."
Glade feels strangely compelled to put on the robe and help the man spread cheer.

(Red Winter Robe, $30756, 3 lbs. It appears to be made of sandstone, but feels like thick red cloth.)

"Master Claws!"
As Glade puts on the robe the wee leprechaun lass climbs up the old man's dirty, white beard with a boot in hand and eyes bloodshot with the effort of maintaining a hostile thought in this aura of kindness and goodwill to all. Before she can speak a word about the man's history of exploitation and misattribution he pulls a small stone tablet from his pocket and hands it to her.
"This wont work on me but it'll work for you."
She is pacified by the idea of being able to choke a room full of ignorant adventurers without losing her lucky charms and climbs back down.

(Stone Tablet (Devitalize Air), $10456, 2 lbs.)

Claws turns to the others as Glade rummages through the sack.
"I'm running out of time. I'm very busy, you see. Here's some stuff."

Wildmman:
(Bracers of Force, $10000, 6.75 lbs.)

Petro:
(Small Compartmentalized Chest, $1260, 20 lbs. It looks like it has bark and leaves growing out of it but they feel like sculpted wood. Fish patterns are extensively inlaid across the whole chest in a different type of wood.)

Astyth:
(Wisdom Potion, $1500, 0.5 lbs.)

The thief:
(Carpet, $60720, 8 lbs. It leaves a faint glowing trail as it moves. 8 square feet.)

Eric:
(Silver Button, $24380, 0.1 lbs. It appears to glow slightly when you hold it.)

Brother Dren:
(Fine Blackjack, $17080, 1 lbs. It appears to be stone but feels like a regular blackjack.)

Master Claws runs to his sleigh and it takes off without delay.
"Merry Christams to all and to all- who took my booze!"

The landscape fades and time resumes.

Congratulations! Random holiday loot drop for everyone. You can choose to warp the loot to your inventory or your stash at the cell's dimensional hideout, more on that later.

Another festive announcement: Deaths will not be without cost. There are ways you can keep your character after dying but it's not without a penalty like originally planned.

Edit: Items may be enchanted. You can get them identified after the match.

Turn 4
(In the moments before time resumes, Petro checks his new chest. It contains nothing.)

The dark-haired man to opens the toll-gate as Brother Stormchaser runs over to the Thief.

The Thief grasps the edge of the roof, ready to pull himself up.

Sir Eric opens the door to the dining room.

As Petro readies his bill and sees the man finally stop moving, the tingling in the back of his head coalesces into a clear thought: this man isn’t bald. He might be the wrong man.
