If you played the game before, or heard bad things about it - it had a pretty rocky launch, and was quite limited. But the devs never stopped working on it, and it's come a long way, turning into what may well be my favorite shooter since Duke Nukem 3D back in the 90s. So give it a chance - I think you'll fall in love with it.

Nazi Science means Dinosaurs are REAL! Play as one! Eat people! Whoo!

This game was actually release back in 2011, but has seen several improvements since then (and another one, in the form of a survival mode, will be coming out fairly soon). They are also working on both an animated series, and it's being produced by Metalocalypse creator Tommy Blacha, and a sequel (currently being referred to as Dino D-Day 2).

This is, quite honestly, the most fun I have had in the last decade with an FPS game. The game is rough around the edges, but every character has personality, and they've got a team of passionate people and some great writers. (I love to stop in a level and just listen to the announcer. The Santa announcer in the snow-forest level is just great.) It is very much worth checking out.

I've heard that this game is really buggy and choppy, as well as not very well balanced.
* rabidgam3r shrugs.*
Might try it later.

I just got to play as a T-Rex with guns strapped to it, and ran around killing and eating people. I do not care in the slightest - it's fun.

I play the Dilophasaur, which has the ability to knock people down, grab them up with his mouth, and then hurl them at other people. (If there's a lack of people you can hurl goats instead!)

The fliers are really fun to play too.

Primal Carnage, it was. Advertised as sort of a L4D/TF2 mix with less hats and more dinosaurs.

So does this play sorta like a silly natural selection 2?

Yes. Natural Selection is the series I'd say it plays most like. I was trying to remember the name of it, so thanks!

It doesn't have the strategic elements and commander stuff though - sort of like NS2 as Counterstrike.

Played it a ton with the wife back in the day, but the servers became really unpopulated. People said it had bad graphics, but whatever - my rig has never been that great, and it played fast and furious, and had some interesting ideas to boot. I really liked it!

Yeah, it's a real fun game, with a few balancing issues. The most OP dinosaur: Microraptor. Tiny, can latch onto walls, and spits poison that blinds and does a shitton of damage and has a cooldown of about a second.

Microraptor is pretty weak to the shotgun though, and suffers the same weakness to traps that the velociraptor does. Against an unskilled group, yeah, they are pretty awesome, but it just takes one or two experienced humans to utterly wreck your day.

I've just learned that apparently they are not only releasing a sequel for this game, but the Metalocalypse go is producing a cartoon series for it as well!

Got super excited, then learned that you weren't talking about Brendon Small :(
