Well, if it can say what sorts of materials there are and where, and they know the composition of an empty tube they may be able to say "Hang on a second, that tube has not enough materials to be loaded!"

Seems like you are giving these guys a lot of credit for calculations that may take quite a while. For all we know our weapons are all internal and a hatch is lifted when you intend to fire it (Like on most advanced fighter aircraft today) to reduce radar detection and that sort of thing. We are a military craft after all.

True, but hey, they live on these calculations.

And I was sorta assuming that they where behind ports. I did not think about stealth though...

I say we fire off a salve of everything, also testing our new rockets, trying to get away while doing so. We can always come back later.

That will guarantee that will be chased + ruin our standings with some unknown, possibly strong power. Yep. They will be not happy with us destroying\stealing their mining drones but not as unhappy as if we kill some of them.

Also testing our new rockets
What rockets? The ones we designed exist only on the paper. And I can't find a good way to use them except  building a refrigerator around one of our missile tubes. Else we'll have exploding missiles every time we arrive in port

Trying to get away while doing so
If we are about to run away, I prefer to not waste our time firing a salvo. The sooner we'll start running away, the less dangerous possible shots from the asteroid will be

We can always come back later.
I am not coming back without few other warships aiding us. That will be a freaking fortress soon

Let's retreat and regroup with house saeta. I'm all for killing people for whatever, as long as it garners a larger reward. We are paid to perform to a T. There are no bonuses for individual actions towards buyers intent. If we kill anyone it puts us under the scope as well as gives our employer deniability, saying it was nowhere in the contract.

Tht being said, if we for some reason do get caught up, I say we intimidate the hell out of them. Whether they can scan us or not, I am will ing to bet all of my credits they would get nothing out of those scans, except to find out we have completely intact teladine plating, and are a fully functional military weapon. There is a gulf of difference between todays equivalant of a mining ship and a battleship (a war relic by our standards, but by no means anything to fuck with). That is essentially the draw we stand in. And don't forget, for leverage; we don't have to destroy ever security drone, we can always just target the MANNED MINING VESSELS, and then retreat out of there and let the security drones zap our hull and ping rounds off of us as we skate off. I feel like we could last fairly long, even against ten, and I think we could outrun them, even then.

In short, Retreat, if caught Intimidate.

If they are stupid enough to follow us, best answer is just to rip that miners to pieces for more reward. Than pick up remains being ready to face whatever else they are ready to send.
To be nice we may offer miners to surrender and let us board them. That's all intimidation that can be used

I prefer retreat because I am afraid of several things...
a) Many missiles fired at us at once, both from the ships and from the asteroid. We just have no enough anti-missile measures to avoid dozens of missiles fired at us
b) Kick ass gun\battery located on the asteroid and powered by a powerful  stationary reactor
c) That we'll need to face their capital ships, while being still busy with drones\miners and whatever else reinforcements they may send

Should the battle happen far from their main base, all that dangers will be not present.
In fact I think the best course of action may be to let them catch up with us, lowering speed as soon as we leave the missile firing range of asteroid.

I believe we are out of that at this point. Notice that the ships are on approach to us. If not, I don't think it would be more than a few tens of kilometers away.

Either way, all for above.

You turn the ship around, and set course for the jump gate at full speed. The mining ships do not change course, and maintain in pursuit, and while your engines are significantly stronger, they did get a head start and are still gaining on you. The AI helpfully informs you that there will be a window of engagement of approximately 2 minutes and 32 seconds, provide the engines provide maximum thrust during the engagement, and the miner ships do not change acceleration. This would be problematic, as the main weaponry of the ship has a spinal alignment, forcing the ship to face the direction it fires. (More or less)

With the clock ticking down towards the engagement, you hail the incoming mining ships, and inform them that by House Seata laws, they're performing illegal mining activities, are trespassing on restricted space, have ignored multiple warnings*, have caused material damage against Seata property, are brandishing weaponry against a House Saeta official, and are technically performing an armed insurgency against House Seata authority. Additional charges that have not been verified, but could be put against them are unregistered spacecraft construction, illegal high energy developments and a variety of issues with weapon registry.

The miners interrupt you mid exposition, stating that by Rim League Guideline 005 they have rightfully claimed this sector, and by Rim League Guideline 003 are allowed to use force to ensure their safety.

*House Seata ensures you they sent several data drones. None returned.

((make one the captian figure perhaps?))

Well, what are those laws? If they checkout just tell them that perhaps they should have told House Seata.
Other than that, perhaps prep the drone for combat?

Nope. They believe they are in the right. No time to argue. Ventilate them.

I wonder... Do we have any trash to dump?

Well, besides that random scrap.
Hell, dump the random scrap. Bonus points if scrap includes explosives the AI can set off.

That wouldn't do well to speed us up. We don't have anything that isn't valuable to us on our ship at the moment, except for the scrap arguably, even then though. I think our only option is to act fast and kick ass.

I was thinking more of "explosive minefield" than "Go Fasta". Afterall, we have to paint the ship red to go fasta.
