Hunt ships that are separated from the main body, then hunt the ships they send at us unless it is a huge force, then hunt the large asteroid and capital ships separately.
Also I am adopting a crew member:
Name: Kalek Tovast
Species: KATCR V1462 DS531 (Or "Kat" which is the normal slang name for the species)
Species Bio:
At one point in the distant past. When humanity was first beginning to spread among the stars. Colonies had minimal, if any oversight from the founding government or corporation. One colony in particular got it into their mind to create a slave race. The first attempt was an abysmal failure, the second and third were equally abysmal. after 1461 failures, they managed to create a functional and sentient creature. This creature looked essentially human but was psychologically unstable and was prone to murderous rampages and complete mental breakdowns. The colony continued altering there creation and for several hundred tries, nothing changed, they still went insane. At one point one of the scientists decided to secretly mix his cat "Mister Fluffykins"'s DNA with a batch of the Client race. Once the other scientists found out, they were horrified and the first scientist was lynched. However the growth had gone to the point that flushing the batch would be a waste of resources. The scientists decided to wait it out. The day or the vat birthing came and the vats were opened and out fell multiple something that looked mostly human but had the ears and tail of a cat. Further examination proved that the species had teeth primarily suited for meat consumption, had slitted eyes, had varying shades of eyeshine, and had retractable claws instead of nails. The majority of the scientists were completely horrified but in the name of science agreed that they had to give the batch a chance. They began doing what they did with every batch: Teach them language and quantum and theoretical physics. The batch had no murderous rampages or mental breakdowns from this, normally a good two thirds of the batch had to be flushed from that section of the testing and the scientists slowly grew less horrified and more intrigued. The scientists conducted various tests, the batch past nearly all of them. The few they didn't pass were related to willpower or long term focusing. The scientists concluded that the entire batch had a form of ADHD similar to what cats have after one of the scientists brought in a laser pointer and transfixed the entire batch. One of the scientists took a liking to one member of the batch and smuggled him out of the lab and kept him as a house pet. The other scientists noticed but none of them really cared, several scientists followed suit. After around three months of the batch being smuggled out, a female member of the batch still in the lab had what could only be described as several "kittens" The scientists did DNA testing and found a male member of the batch in the lab was the father. At this point the scientists gave up on trying to contain them in the lab and just let them roam the colony. No random murders or comatose catpeople were discovered for years. The population however did grow and they gained a nickname of Kats from the colony youth. The colony eventually was absorbed into an empire and the Kats, being excellent at many computer and machinery related tasks began getting recruited by passing ships as mechanics or comp techs; eventually spreading nearly the entire length of Human Occupied Space like the feral cats of Old Earth Lore.

Character bio: Born in a litter of 7, one sibling a stillborn in Orbital Station 3 of the Nogath moon. Fairly uneventful childhood until late teens when he and his 5 living siblings were hired as mechanics for a government chartered mining trawler. A pirate who identified himself as Bloodbeard the 16th ambushed the trawler in the asteroid belt. The miners refused to be boarded and Bloodbeard opened fire. Kalek saw two of his siblings get sucked out of a hull breach before the bulkhead slammed shut. Katel bolted for the escape pod bay, but not before a small piece of shrapnel from a blast nailed him directly next to the eye. Bleeding he crawled into an escape pod and jettisoned. Through the rear viewport he could see Bloodbeard's cruiser dock with the Trawler before he blacked out from blood loss. He awoke in Charter Station 6's medbay, the home station of the Mining Trawler, the pod had autopiloted there. He was told that his right eye had beed damaged by the shrapnel, his eye pigment would slowly fade red and then fade to a pink as time went on. As soon as Kalek was able, he joined a crew bound for he didn't care where. He vowed to eventually find Bloodbeard and visit agony upon him or die. The crew he joined was bound for the inner core.
Personality: Withdrawn sometimes, otherwise absurdly hyper and impulsive.
Specialty: Automated Machines (drones, weak AI's, droids)
