"This is the place." whispered a voice in my ear. I waved my hand up at the wagon driver, so that he would stop. He'd commanded that this be the place that we make out residence, and so we will.

When we arrived, I send off the woodcutter to take down some of the timber in the area. Then Hav0k and I began to mine out the ground from the plans I'd make on the journey. There is not very many trees here at all, that may be a problem. Many a bush filled with delicious berries was hanging around the area, so I designated those to also be taken down.

Today we finished our excavation, so I ordered farms to be built and workshops to be placed.
22nd Granite, 455
I've realized a slight folly. Our stonecrafter, who had previously stated that he was also a well-accomplished mason, has been discovered to have lied. He knows nothing of masonry! His punishment will have to be saved for later, for now he has been made the acting mason.
25th Granite, 455
With the completion of the farm plot, I've made a note for Hav0k and I to dig out the rest of the upper level for food storage. I've also had several beds designated, to put inside the rooms we dug out. I've also ordered our lying stoneworker to make seven doors out of the chert that makes up the walls. Our mechanic's workshop lacks a mechanic, but that is alright for now.
7th Slate, 455
I've realized yet another folly, and a major one this time. We've forgotten to bring logs! The only wood we have will be from the few trees that grow in this mountainous area and the wood from the wagon. We must work with what we have until the traders get here. My plan, for now, is to make a four bed dormitory, to save our precious logs.
12th Slate, 455
The dormitory has been dug out, now we just need the beds. Soon, Hav0k and I are going to dig out a place to put the rest of our belongings.. Also, despite my jests the stoneworker has finished those doors I've asked for quickly enough.
15th Felsite, 455
The food stockpile has been designated, and dwarves now fill it with delicious food and drink. I've had a still constructed near the farms, so that we can get even more drunk! With our abundance of stone, I've ordered the stonecrafter to make some rock pots and rock crafts. If the gods are good, we can sell them for wood.

Today some migrants arrived from the south. One was a surgeon, practically useless at the moment. The others were a blacksmith, a farmer, and another miner. Relatively useless migration wave.
25th Hematite, 455
I was walking around the place today and I saw something that lifted my spirits. I've ordered peregarrett, the carpenter, to make more beds from this newly found wood. I've also ordered some drinks to be brewed, I saw that we were getting low.
13th Limestone, 455
I've given personal rooms to the dwarves whose names I know, and I've expanded the residential area. The dormitory is still there for the homeless dwarves.
27th Limestone, 455
Our surgeon, previously useless, has been told that he is to learn how to farm so that he will be more than just a food loss until we can have a hospital built. The first thing that he did was go to brew some drinks. Good dwarf! With the introduction of the new farmer, I have added a second farm plot.
14th Sandstone, 455
Seven more dwarves have migrated to Demonjustice. There are two peasants, a clothier, a ranger, a jeweler, a farmer, and a fish dissector. The fish dissector has been made a farmer, and the clothier has been made a mason. For now, the two peasants have also been made farmers. We now have an excess of agricultural workers, and you know what that means. Another farm plot has been put up.
13th Timber, 455
Hooray, the traders are here! I've ordered a trade depot to be quickly erected, and even more stone crafts to be made. I've told them that we would like wood, definitely, and some extra food. The depot is barely built in time, but they arrive and begin to unload their goods. Sadly, they did not bring any wood with them. From them, we get food and drinks.
17th Opal, 455
I've had the residential area expanded, so that I can see what I can do about our current housing problem. For now the dwarves are content, but I don't know how long it will last.
22nd Obsidian, 455
All current residents are housed, and there is space for more. The housing problem has been fixed. In other news, a horse died. I've had a butcher's workshop constructed, so that we can at least get some meat from the dead animal.
