I had forgotten I made this. Thanks, greatorder.
So as a topic of discussion for us, I want some input.
What are your views on the Barbarian/Warrior?
It's the only unit made from the Town Hall that isn't rubbish, and I use them rather often, what are your guys opinions on them?
I'm asking because I like to compare cost/effectiveness ratios. A swordsman requires a recruit, sword, shield, and metal armor.
In raw resources, that equates as follows.
Recruit (0.5 gold ore, 0.5 coal)
Sword (1 coal, 1 iron{1 iron ore, 1 coal})
Shield (1 coal, 1 iron{1 iron ore, 1 coal})
Metal Armor (1 coal, 1 iron{1 iron ore, 1 coal})
For a total cost of 6.5 coal, 3 iron ore, and 0.5 gold ore. This is actually quite a bit of resources for a single unit.
In comparison, the Barbarian/Warrior costs a flat 5 Gold. Which equals 2.5 gold ore, and 2.5 coal.
In terms of gold ore costs, this makes the barbarian/warrior heavily more expensive, but in terms of coal usage, it's less than half that of the swordsman, and you don't need iron at all.
The stats of the Barbarian/Warrior are 4 attack (the highest non-siege attack in the game) and 1 defense, while a swordsman gets 3 attack, and 2 defense.
In a straight up fight between the two, in my experience, the Barbarian/Warrior will beat out the swordsman more often than not.
