How on earth was she going to explain this to her mum? Would she even believe her if she told her the truth? She felt panic rising up inside her again as she looked down at the phone she had managed to find, finally though she picked up the courage to dial the number.
”Hello mum, it's Miyuki again”
”Hi Miyuki, I'm just about to set of for the hospital now I should be there soon”
”Mum... Something... Something else has happened”
”What? Are you ok?”
Miyuki drew in a deep breath before speaking hoping that she could explain it properly ”Apparently when the meteor hit me it... it changed me”
”Changed you?”
”Yes apparently... apparently I might have powers now, these people they want me to go with them. I don't think I have a choice” her voice faded away towards the end of the sentence, as she said she realised how insane this all sounded.
”They want you to go with them?
”I think they are with the government. I'm... I'm sorry, I don't think I'm going to see you again for a while” for a moment Miyuki's mother did not respond but then she spoke
”Ok then... Make sure you stay safe and call me whenever you like I will always be there for you. Don't let them thrust you into anything dangerous ok?” Miyuki let out a small sigh, it seemed like that she was taking it
”I'll do my best not to and mum I'm sorry, I wish I didn't have to leave like this” her voice began to break towards the end of the sentence
”You don't need to apologise it's not your fault, don't blame yourself for any of this ok?”
”Ok”
”Stay strong, I know you can get through this and I'm sure we will see each other again soon”
”Ok, goodbye. I love you”
”Goodbye and I love you too, we'll see each other again soon”
Miyuki let out a long sigh as the conversation ended and then made her way back to the briefing room. She hoped that her mother's words would turn out to be true.
