((I choose Damgenheun, a large dwarven town, with a significant human population. This is because it serves as a major trade junction for the area, being in one of the few passes through the local mountain range. In the eastern side of the mountain range, as the number of cliffs decrease and the terrain overall becomes far gentler, though still mountainous, the dwarven lands of Darrikslan sprawl throughout the foothills and mounts, diving deep below the surface of the earth, and bordered from the sea by the Eilanos Convene, a small elven nation(both of these could be considered oversized city-states or alliances thereof) thriving in the forests and fields nurtured by the mountains, which hold back the incoming rain from the sea. On the west, as a result of those mountains, Karrse, a primarily human country, with a strong population of Dragonborn, Orcs, and Kobolds, stakes claim over much of the desert there. They also hold dominion over several more prosperous locations, mostly Oasis', but also branches of scrubland and fertile plains just outside the desert, and also hold some number of the shorter foothills and canyon-systems nearer the mountain range.
Much of Karsse's population resides along the river Kar and it's tributaries, and the country is ruled by a sovereign court, elected by the various noblemen every six years. Nine secondary councils serve as advisors to the Court, but have much less direct power(though they compete and and rule in some aspects, making laws directly correlating to their areaof advisement, and the Court is typically made of puppets, representatives, or former members of the councils, with a few independents mixed in). The nine councils each serve as advisor for a different region of influence and politics; Agriculture, Labor, Commerce, Finance, Security, Religion, Domestic Affairs, Foreign Affairs, and the now-empty Magus Council. Karsse's main exports are glassware, gemstones, textiles, ceramics, spices, and mercenaries. Their main imports are refined metals, precious metals, wood & wood products, foodstuffs, and tools & equipment. Karrse currently has good relations with most of it's neighbors, though it's people are not pleased with the current rulers, after the recent famine and suppressed civil war. Rebellion is unlikely for the moment, though rebel bands are still being hunted down. The full name of the country is the Unified Territories of Karrse
Darrikslan straddles most of the Mornfell mountain range, as well as a great deal of the eastern foothills, with most of the population in the mountains clustered in valleys and atop plateaus, where it is easier to grow a larger variety of food. Within the heart of the country, few non-dwarves are to be seen, though as the elevation grows closer to sea level, this becomes less common. Darrikslan is currently ruled by an almost feudal system, one high king ruling over five low kings, who in turn govern their respective domains. However, it is currently common practice for the low king with the most support from his populace to become high king when such a need arises. Typically, high and low king alike will appoint their own advisiers, usually ranging from four to thirteen individuals, each of whom is typically selected for their wisdom and experience in one area. Darrikslan's main exports are refined metals, manufactured goods, precious metals, weapons & armor, coal, and engineers/craftsmen. Their main imports are foodstuffs, ceramics, raw materials, livestock, wood & wood products, and labor. Currently, tensions between Eilanos and Darrikslan are high, mounting in the last few years over racial ties and water shortages along their common border, in addition to high trade taxes and idealistic differences. Three of the low kings are currently feuding amongst each other, though this is not unusual, while the commoners grow unsettled with their treatment, being drawn to the social justice promised by communism. Rebellion may occur soon, if the rabble-rousers and leaders among the lower classes continue to foster dissent. The full name of the country is the True Dwarven Kingdom of Darrikslan
The Eilanos Convene rules practically all of the forests east of the Mornfells, as well as several sizable islands and plains. The country is mostly elves, though fae and halfings are also common, in addition to small communities of satyr and centaurs. Currently, the Eilanos Convene is governed, unsurprisingly, by a convene of lesser monarchs, whom have almost complete freedom to rule as they wish within their own lands. The convene is headed by the spiritual leader of the Eilanos, who directs the proceedings and serves as a common councilor to all the monarchs(or at least those who listen). The lands within Eilanos are quite varied because of this, and borders change often due to the intricate politics and dealings amongst the monarchs. Lately, there has been a great deal of racial intolerance and anti-foreigner sentiment, and the in many of the monarchies, the commonfolk are very displeased. Rebellion is currently in full force in several lands, and monarchs are making alliances and deals as always, this time to quell the dissenters, or support them and advance their own agenda. It is unlikely to change the system of government, however, barring unusual circumstances, as much of the time, the leader of each rebellion simply makes themselves the next or new monarch, changing things to suit their principles until the monarch or their descendants become corrupt or the people grow discontented and the cycle begins again. The Eilanos' Convene's main exports are wood & wood products, art, technology, foodstuffs, livestock, salt, and exotic plants. Their main imports are refined metals, manufactured goods, glassware, precious metals, fine goods, and coal.))
