Jaster grins, mentally. Being able to take Gerruce with him to his room was probably the best possible outcome; it meant the basilisk could be safer and more comfortable, it didn't frighten the other horses, and it afforded Jaster himself that much more security. He agrees to have it live in his room. After escorting the basilisk there and ordering food for it ("Give me the cheapest slop you have, please. Leftovers and mold are fine." Gerruce's extreme omnivority was a boon at times...), Jaster sets about warming himself by the fire and getting his own food; a bit higher quality than his pet's.

((Melt which types of metal? Do your enemies not have mages? And you realize napalm is very sticky right, which is half the point of it? Not a bad plan, just remember that if the napalm doesn't move, it won't work. And also the question of whether or not it'll be hot enough to melt metal, particularly with rain constantly washing the napalm off the vehicles and cooling them down.))

(( The enemies only mages are the heavies who are ungodly levels of strong. The convoy had no heavies so they have no mages. The heavies are also relatively low in number so they're spread thin.

If a 300,000 strong army didn't warrant one a supply convoy certainly doesn't. ))

((What kind of metal, you ask? How abouе tungsten-based armor?))

Rolepgeek
Inn-holder isn't happy with the fact a basilisk will live in one if his rooms, but he offered it himself, so he copes with that.
For your ask of food, drinks and fireplace he names you another price: 10 siguluses.
((I insist on spelling it like that - singulus is singular form, singuluses in plural. About money - you are right, there is more likely that you have dwarven Copper Hammers. But since they are equal in value to singuluses, I name prices in those.))

(( It was more for the fear effect then anything else anyway, being stuck inside a vehicle thats on fire while your vehicle sinks isn't going to be pleasant. ))

Jaster makes an act of considering, though he knows the inn-keeper is blatantly overcharging him. The fire is part of the common room, after all, and the basilisk's meal would be stuff they were likely to throw out anyway(unless it's a worse establishment than it looks), but the food wasn't worth that much, he was sure. Still, he had to be careful...the innkeeper would be looking for any excuse to make things worse. "While I can certainly understand why you might try an initial price such as that, we both know that what I'm asking for isn't that much. Perhaps 6 singuluses? If you need something more, I could patch up your curtains or the like; I am an experienced tailor."

You seat back and wait. In a while, Yaro returns. He's not alone - Zacharia is with him this time. His face is serious and intrested at once.
 - Give me the sword, - he asks.

Rolepgeek
Inn-holder makes a wry face, than spits a few more words:
 - 8 singuluses, and not a thug less than that.

"Excuse me, good sirs... is there a problem?"

Inquire as to why these fellows are so stunned.

Zacharia examines the blade with several professional moves, than concludes:
 - This blade obviously has magic origin. And I mean it - the metal itself bears the traces of raw magic influence, you can see it. And the jem on hilt is some kind of retranslator - so the caster could have a picture of the battlefield without spreading his magic forces on creating wards. So, where do you say the trace leads? To the forest on the left? Hmmm...
He walks from side to side foк a minute, than stops as if he would be struck by an idea:
 - How do you feel about exploring this little mistery?

They are still silent. They open their mouths like if they tried to say something, but no actual word leaves their lips. [6] You notice that their tongues are actually torn away.
 - They are not likely to speak to you, good sir - I removed their tongues myself, - says a voice from behind.

Rolepgeek
 - Fine. Fix everything that needs fixing in your room.
He leaves with your money and returns somewhere in five minutes with a small can of gasoline, matches, some wood, a dish with meat for you and a bucket of leftovers for basilisk.
He tosses all that in your room and leaves again.
((Imma off for 10-11 hours.))

Jaster frowns to himself at the proffered meal. Especially since he had been hoping to trawl for rumors, not cook his food...though, he was a bit surprised the man didn't expect him to set the place on fire. Either he was quite stupid, or quite smart. As racists didn't tend to be the intelligent sort, in the troll-blood's experience, he strongly suspected the former. Nonetheless, he didn't have much choice at this point, so he took a patch of canvas from his things and had Gerruce petrify it, to create a space to cook without burning the place down. It could happen anyway, Jaster imagined, what with all the filth lying about. Wouldn't be much of a loss, either...but it would be impolite, to say the least, not to be careful. Giving the bucket to Gerruce, he settled to the task of tending the fire and cooking his meat. Trolls were mostly carnivores, and while he wasn't one, his metabolism did mean that he could survive on little more than meat for a significant time, so the meal should do. Hopefully he'd get done quickly so he could see about asking the less prejudiced individuals(there were bound to be some; not everyone here was a dwarf, and outcasts stuck together, right?) the local news.

"That's... quite a severe measure."

Turn to look at who it is.
