You examine them, but they do not resemble anything you've seen before. When you show it to Yaro, his eyes go wide.
 - GUARDS! DEFENSIVE!
And here the mess begins. Several arrows hit the bodies of trucks, though all the guards managed to get in cover. Yaro grabs his massive gun from a space under his seat and gives a burst in direction where arrows came from. Damn, what is this that he uses like a machinegun? Places where the projectiles hit the obstacle explode like if a small grenade was thrown there. You hear screams of people in distance.
 - Get cover! Quickly!

Patrick Hunt
 - So you confess that you are the leader of these scumbags. We know that capital is under siege - we have army to manage that. And why the hell do you need to talk to military officers, bandit? Wanna write confession about your crimes - ask me.

I'm not a bandit I'm a soldier. I was on my way to the capital to report in when it came under siege so I diverted here for orders and supplies.

Now take me to the officer in charge or get out of the way, were at war and I've got work to do.

If I was a bandit would I be stood here talking with you? Use your canned head I need to get set up and get to work unless you want to end up serving the humans

Patrick Hunt
 - You are no soldier. You have no uniform. But if you seek to join the army so desperately, I'll let you go. Proceed with your band to recruiting point...
He explains you where to go and lets you go. You ride to the pointed place - the expression of commissaries when they see 76 armed people with their own transport volunteering to army is something you'll remember. They register you as 34th Volunteer Company, paint it on your trucks, give you uniform (no armor, however), 52 rifles for those of you who haven't any, and a machinegun.
Also, you have a commander signed to your company - he begins to behave like a boss from the very beginning. He crawls up on truck and shouts.
 - All right, maggots, listen up. From now on you won't take a dump without MY order. You are now part of great and mighty Army Evahera, and I think none of you shall serve it better than a piece of meat. Damn, a piece of meat would do better than you. But HQ still has an assignment for you. Somewhere there lies a railroad of our foes. We need to explode it. Explosives are loaded in your trucks right now. You've got the point. Go! Go!

UltraValican
You open fire, but absence of vision contact makes it harder to hit'em:
[6-2] You hear a distant scream. Impressive.
Another barrage of arrows comes (20 attacks, nerfed by -1 because everyone took cover):
4 x [1-1]
6 x [2-1]
1 x [3-1]
7 x [4-1]
2 x [5-1]
Two arrows hit wheels. Damn it.

Now attackers charge at your position - those are... oh, gods. Those are undead warriors - some of them decayed too much to recognize them, some are eladryns, some are orcs, some are dwarves, some are elves.

Caravan guard answers with a synchronized volley of shots - Zacharia's voice commands in a cold manner, like if it was usual situation. The only person who is not firing with the others is Yaro. He attaches another clip to his fearsome gun and fires himself.
2 x [1]
3 x [2]
1 x [4]
7 x [5]
6 x [6]
[Guards took down 14 zombies, others are walking despite the injuries]
[3+2]
[Others are blasted to pieces of rotting flesh by Yaro's barrage.
It seems that those were all of them.

(( .... How did I go from requesting entry to assigned a commander? I was requesting to go and meet the officer in command to discuss this.

Can you please stop deciding what I'm going to do without giving me a choice. It's the third time and again its something I would never do.))

(( . I would never accept rifles, or to be a volunteer unit or to be replaced in command. That goes completely against my character. Being in the army is fine but not like that. ))

((Don't you find your own statements contraverering? Being in army means to wear uniform, use standardized gear, obey officers. Or you thought that you'll just come, get what you need from your state and leave? In fact, describe me how you saw the picture. You come to the recruiting point, report for duty - and what happens next?))

(( That was why I wanted to see the officer in command, not a recruiter. I know exactly what I intended to do but the recruiter is far to junior to actually do anything about it.

I called it an irregular unit for a reason, they don't have uniforms or use the standard kit that's what makes them irregular.

I was planning more of a mercenary arrangement then volunteer. It fits far better but I need to negotiate it myself.))

((Then why should litany authorities help you in that business? Army doesn't respect mercenaries. And one more point - recruiter was in rank of colonel, the highest rank among local military.))

(( Really? The senior officer is the recruiter? Who's daughter did he sleep with to end up in that position lol.

I have a good way to convince them, if you'll let me play it out. If it falls on deaf ears then my character might let it go but just being dumped into it will go very badly. ))

((Recruiting officer is a post that considered as a respectable post here. Leave your sexual fantasies to yourself please.
And he strongly believes that a young elf of your age should serve in army during the war. So, even if you'd resist, you would end up like that.))

(( Meh I intend to join it just not in the manner you did earlier, which is essentially putting him into a unit thats going to fight the opposite to how he does, with the complete opposite weapons from his, commanded by men who clearly haven't got the first clue what they're doing if they think rifles are going to be any use at all in this kind of war.

The moment they fire a shot they're going to give away there position and either be run over by tanks or burned by dragons. Stealth is literally the only option they have if they want to live long enough to make a difference right now and rifles are worthless for stealth. They make so much noise every human within half a mile would hear your first shot and come down on you to obliterate you.

The elves don't have anywhere close to the numbers to fight a full scale battle at the moment. Anyway going on from earlier when you said describe the picture I'll go from when I report to the recruiter since I'm at a pc now and can type properly. If I still end up in this horrible position I'll just have to murder my officer and defect to the human but meh, have to see how it goes. ))

Walking up to the recruiting officer Harberad gives his best imitation of a salute before speaking.

" Sir, I'm Harberad, me and my 3 companions have come from a border town on the human side we annihilated 2 battalions and took down an iron dragon with the help of the local rebel forces though I should report they will likely be dead soon due to it's leader being an egotistical idiot without a tactical bone in his body judging from the fact that he admitted to planning for 8 years and then I showed up and did the job for him in less then a day.

I can give you a full report if you require it but the short version is I used my head and tricked the enemy into weakening itself so I could crush the rest and vanish before they knew what hit them, I picked up 72 men on my way to the capital but arrived in time to see the human forces preparing for siege so we came here instead, I'd like to offer our services as an irregular mercenary company. I'm very good at guerrilla warfare which right now is the only option we have until the army can be gathered, I have plenty of guns but I need bows so with permission I'd like to exchange them and acquire good armor for my men.

With that and a few other supplies like explosives and caltraps I can disrupt the humans siege and hit there supply lines to buy you time. Give me a chance sir, and I will be a nightmare these humans can never wake up from.
"
