"So be it, but your men do not like your plan or the way your leading them. Watch out or you may end up a leader without an army.

Men don't like to be led by people who don't listen to them and your not listening to yours, that's why so many want to come with me. You can not force elven men to fight like humans it goes against there honor.

Wait for him to go into town then collect my wounded, stay with him as he leads the people away.

Travel around the camp telling them all I'm heading for the elven capital if they want me. Don't try to recruit just tell them where I'm going.

Head for the capital stopping at every elven settlement along the way to call for volunteers to join me. inform them that the wars began and I've already liberated a towns people to encourage them to join me and keep an eye out for any of the rebels men who decide to follow me.

"Uhm, I'm thinking we should, erm, stick together and whatnot. I'm kinda feeling a little... exposed wandering around here alone. Didn't think it'd be, uh, so bad and all."

"It's, erm, really as much for my benefit as yours. I don't like being, um, totally alone and whatnot."

Wander around town. What amenities, services and stores has it got?

Show them my men's wounds as proof and convince them to join me.

(( I'm going to kill that elven bastard. ))

Tell them I'm an irregular unit with the army tasked with wreaking as much havoc as possible to disrupt the humans plans and weaken them ahead of the main army.

Also tell them I already destroyed 2 brigades and a dragon. If any want to make the humans bleed and take revenge they should join me. All in 1 day.

Remind them that bands like mine see the most action and do the most damage.

[4+ to belive that you're irregular unit - 6] They belive that part.

They do not believe the part about the dragon. They're all dead or flew away to wildlands, they say. And they do not any revnge - Men did no harm to them during the previous War, they say.

The last statement made the effect opposite to your expectations - they say that bands like yours also have the biggest losses and are not supplied properly.

Point out mine and my companions high quality weapons and armor. Tell them I have the armies support so well be well supplied and inform them we got a little bruised but none of my company died.

I don't take stupid risks with my men, join me and you'll get good armor, good weapons, training and the chance to ensure the humans never make it deep enough into elven land to harm your families.

They're carrying out torture and murder already on the elves near the borders and unless we make them stop they'll come to your homes in time and kill your families. Join me and that won't happen.

(( Wasn't a lie, my mission was real and authorised so I'll get supplies at the capital.  Don't exact have the stuff jut I took out 1-2 battalions and a dragon in a day. That should go a fair way to getting me the supplies I need.))

Continue to the capital repeating the process to every group of elves and settlement I pass on the way.

((No doubt that your mission is real, but authorised? You met NO authorities on your way, who did that behind MY back, eh? And yes, you may get your supplies in the capital, but estimated time needed to get there by foot is three weeks, and you need yer supplies now.))
You move on. Newbies are complining all the way about everything they see and do - their share of baggage you care is too heavy, they have no weapons, nights are too cold, the food is not like mommy's. Douchebags.
You walk a bit longer than you expected due to the problems those ones caused. Finally arrive to the next town. As you repeat the procedure, about twenty elves join you - those are armed with their own guns and seem to know how to use them. Local people have a telegraph in their city, so fresh news reach them faster.
Two douchebags from previous town refuse to go further.
((And I do not like the way you do it - "I go straight to the capital ignoring the month of the way - do the thing, GM"))
