[4 +2 for backstab +1] You touch the man's shoulder before he strikes dwarf another time, and give him a nice punch to the face as he turns to you in surprise. You drop him down instantly - he is out for a while.
The dwarf looks surprised but greteful.

Firstly; where did you come from? Secondly, why did you leave? Thirdly, these places can be very dangerous; - Why would you travel with your family like that, and with such shoddy weaponry? Finally, do you value your life?

I'l ignore it for now. I'd rather find some sort of armor shop since my leather armor won't get me very far against stronger opponents.

Hand over all the kit I took and dump the heads with the ones I took previously then go and speak to the other rebel fighters.

" Well thats 17 dead humans soldiers in less then 24 hours without any losses of our own, not a bad start if I do say so myself.

Anybody else feel like joining us in teaching the humans to fear the darkness? I'm sure most of you have your old bows hidden away somewhere from before the humans turned up but if not I've taken plenty of rifles to arm you all and I'm sure I can make it work.

Ask the rebel leader if he has a map of the town and can mark out all the patrol routes and military buildings on it. Especially the main barracks.

" Theres more weapons and ammo sitting in your armory and the humans are going to wake up to find 12 more dead soldiers and not a single witness to the crime, gimme a few days and I'll have the scum convinced the dead themselves have come for them. "

(( How many humans in a regiment? So I can keep track of how many humans roughly are left in town. ))

First note - you took down all the 24 centries you met. That was the whole point of going in a party of four. One of four arrows always reaches the target.
Plus 5 massacred, plus one executed for treason, that is thirty frags. Maths.

Second note - regiment is 3.000 footmen. Lots of work to be done.

The heads of dead are fearsome attribute, but their stench is going to make your presence in the cave unbearable.

You get the map, and mark known routes of patrols. It's not like there were too much military buldings, though - one to be precise. HQ. It is like an autonomic citadel in the center of town. Why the hell do they do so? Still, there are supply convoys that provide them with food and water. And here is the place where you do not noticed thing and the Resistance showed that it did some work without you. You get their routes and timetables on another map and copy it to yours.
Four more elves are about to join you.
It should be almost early morning outside there now.

(( Ahh so the sentries worked in pairs, I thought they were alone.

Is the citadel made of wood? Given the locations it would seem logical to use wood to build it rather then dragging stone hundreds of miles. ))

Drain and bottle all the blood from the heads first as well as taking little scraps of flesh. Put it all into a bottle and leave it in a hot place in the hideout.

Ask when the next supply convoy will arrive and what route it takes.

(( Hmm so thats me plus 1 companion and 7 new soldiers fit to fight and 2 wounded who'll be out for a couple days. I can make that work. ))

Third note - originally, I mentioned two dozens of centries scattered all over the town. 1 dozen is 12 men. 2 dozens - 24 men.

Fourth note - citadel is made of rock and reinforced with metal carcass. It seems that they really need to defend this position at all costs. You have no idea why. I do know why. But I won't tell that so easy.

Fifth note - Stop right there, criminal scum! Do you really think that one just goes wherever he wants with a bunch of armed rebels and a couple of chopped heads on pikes on the break of day, or I got you wrong?

(( The idea was to go before daybreak since it should still be dark at the moment and the sentries are all dead so moving around should be simple enough. Unless it's lighter then I thought I was treating it as winter so it'd be dark longer

But I'll edit that bit out it can wait. ))
