Still, I suppose there's no harm in waiting to see if he stops on his own.", Evan replied.

After a moment's pause, lost in thought, he continued, "Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce myself. My name's Evan."

At that, an awkward silence stretched, the sort that occurs frequently when two people who aren't terribly good at small talk try to hold a conversation. Deciding that continuing the conversation would be more interesting than looking out the window while dodging paper projectiles, Evan spoke up, "So, I'll admit this isn't exactly the most original question ever… but which classes are you looking forwards to? Or dreading, as the case may be. I'm kind of the new guy here, so I'm not sure what to expect."

((I'll just go ahead and ask now, does anyone mind if I RP and insert minor details about the scene/background? I'm hoping it'll make this a bit more interesting, but I don't want to mess with anyone else's plans.))
