Looks like I fit in the genial, somewhat thoughtless (or possibly sociopathic)*, clumsy giant mold.  Who likes Megabeast souls and... golem wool?

Instead of spending a lot of money on a gem that makes water, (which is an abundant resource on the map), why not make a weapons/armor merchant and get gear for 5-10 dwarves? You got snatchers and thieves, so ambushes and sieges wont be long.

Yeah I don't want to get stolen by a snatcher. D:

I want to be dorfed too! I want to be a merchant who handles ambassadorial duties and must have the floor of his room covered in forbidden coins! Alternatively a bard/public speaker so I can annoy you with transformation messages until you turn it off.  :D

I was looking for a merchant to buy weapons from the dealer...you'll get the dwarf with the highest negotiation skill, and a place in the merchant's guild.

I thoroughly enjoy that my dworfs first like is simply "fire."  I'll be delighted as everything burns around me.  I also have a fairly easy crimson preference.  Just set a few hornets on fire and I'll be happy forever.

So my dwarf made in one week in your fortress something more useful then all my dwarves of my last few fortresses combined in a dozen ingameyears? I always knew i need outsidemotivation to channel my best!

Btw, remember that having an artifat door will keep building destroyers out, no matter if it is locked or closed. This can in fact be a problem, when it leads to a dozen trolls piling up at the end of a one space wide floor. even a legendary superdwarf may have problems facing that. But you can always send my dwarf first, of course!

I know artefacts cant be destroyed, but surely a building destroyer can deconstruct it? (or not?)

a building destroyer will get stuck at an artifact door, because he will try to destroy it. Even if it is opened. the BD will just stand in front of the door and look at it until the end of times. That's why you can pile up trolls that way. leave the door open, everyone walks through, trolls stays at the door.

I wonder how that interacts with Digging Invaders? Doors can't be deconstructed like walls, 'cause they're destroyed instead, is that right? So I wonder if diggers would try to path around it?
