May I suggest something? We haven't explained the millennial catastrophes yet. Maybe try to use the Legacy for this?

If I wasn't almost finished with the fall of the elves, I would have gone with this suggestion. Still, we have several ways in which to introduce the millennial catastrophes. It could be a result of the energies unleashed when the elves fell. Or a decree of the First One/the nine gods. Or something else. Who knows?

If Gamerlord later takes what would be your turn at making the Legacy, then I see no problem.

We're right beside each other in the turn order, so it's not a problem.

Well seeing as the elves just managed to destroy compressed Change, perhaps that could be the reason.  Angry Change wiping out all sentient life every 1000 years.

It's all good, but can we have a quick vote on the Emsai? Should we keep them or should they fall with the eta-lieve?

I thought that they'd become servants of Sarra-lum, or something along those lines.

They would be a rather impressive enemy for whoever our next race is.

I doubt that enough Emsai survived to become enemies for the next race. Besides, we have 8 other gods now to help smush the remaining Emsai if they go on a rampage.

...

I'm not the only one picturing the Emsai as dragon-analogues, am I?

I picture them as the illegitimate son of an hedgehog and a triffid.

So now, it's up to GWG to decide whats the next focus will be?

((Aren't we supposed to still have Gemstones for later one? Maybe Change re-crystallized or something. ))

It wasn't all of the Gemstones, only a couple of them. Two or three, five at the most. Though obviously that small number of Gemstones had more than enough power to obliterate most of the life on the planet, and possibly cause further destruction long into the future.

I picture them as the illegitimate son of an hedgehog and a triffid.

Same here. By dragon-analogue I mean that they fill the niche of dragons in most fantasy novels. Namely by being few in number, but very powerful and dangerous. Also possibly guarding treasures from an earlier era.

Having them survive in the mythical beast of mass destruction niche doesn't seem to fit right.  If we gave them the ability to Godzilla the surrounding environment it might work, but as they stand, they seem to be slightly stronger and dumber trolls with (maybe) magical capacity.

((Interestingly, my computer autocorrects Godzilla to a capital G))

Nah, wouldn't feel right making them huge. I was hoping for a more visceral, one-on-one creature.

I see very well a single gem being destroyed, which set off a chain reaction with the hundreds, maybe thousands of others.

Maybe the destroyed gems are able to recrystallize?
