Could someone explain Aquaducts?
« on: August 23, 2006, 08:51:00 pm »

Hi, I haven't found anything in the manuals or online, and would like to avoid the floods that would result from experimenting, so: how do Aquaducts work? And what can they be used for?

aquaducts are used for transporting lava and water across the chasm, under or above ground river, or lava stream. Basically, aquaducts are a bridge for liquids.

How thick they have to be to function properly though, i have no idea since i've never had to use them.

3 tiles wide. The middle tile conveys the liquid.

Fun! I'll need to experiment. You know, water to magma, magma to water, lava to outdoors glaciers... I'm really hoping to get a fortress surounded by a vast boiling ocean. That'll teach those damn unicorns! (Although I suppose that was my fault for messing with the data files to play as goblins instead of dwarves... Unicorns don't attack non-hostile dwarves, right?)

I think I'm going to go fiddle with the data files and play a nice game of Demon Fortress.
