In this game, you can't use them first battle, but you can use them in later battles (though you are not in command of them).  He's already been through his first fight.  Though why in the world he quoted his own post to bring down his nonbolded action is beyond me.

Actually, besides dodging a void session and allowing your sprite to give advice on the second prototyping, increasing the power of your enemies is all prototyping does.
