2) that it's impossible to google - you'll just be drowned in historical and touristic info.

Ha! You and me both. Putnam is a common surname (as noted above) and shows up in geographical locations often.

Searching "Helgoland's account" worked. Sorta. I found a couple of accounts named Helgoland.

Mine was something I did while bored in middle school. Took a pencil and traced some of the whorls in the desk, ended up spelling out BFEL in a graffiti-ish style.
Seeing that, I marveled at how close it was to "Befell" which is the verb most often appointed to disasters, and that was completely awesome so I made it stick :P

Like what? My search just turned up loads and loads of island-stuff. Maybe it's Google providding region-specific results?

You do realize that now half of bay12 is digging through your info on google, if only for the sake of challenge. And to practice their cyber-stalking skills I guess.
You know what is really impossible to google up? ;)

My oldest sister was deciding to be nice a few years back and had found a LOTR elven translator, so decided to make a name.
It was for runescape...

Hey, better than idiotis for a name, yes?

A quick glance at an English-Quenya (High Elvish) Wordlist says that "Leaf Lord" should be "Lasseheru." It doesn't say what "Asea" means (it may very well be another word for leaf).

Mine is my pen name, which I use when writing something that isn't meant to be taken seriously. It was just the first word that came into my head when I was thinking of one.

My username involves middle school, a sandwich, and Dungeon and Dragons.

When I was in middle school, I was trying to come up with a name for a DnD character. I thought Jack was an awesome name and then took inspiration from the sandwich.
I'm glad I didn't go with JackCheese or JackHam or something.
