The group just barely spots a sentinel drone hovering in place, perhaps looking for them, drawing its attention would raise a nasty alarm, and the drones themselves are not known for being pushovers.  The group is able to avoid its gaze, returning to the previous crossroads and heading west.  Heading south now will return the group to the initial crossroads or they can continue to head west.

That's two strikes.  One more and there will be consequences.

South or North?  No direction this time, but you can most certainly hear hounds, a man cursing and what sounds like an electric prod.
