Bay12 Rumble

Rumble is a surprisingly versatile game system primarily designed with PvP in mind, that I would like to try GMing, with some augmentations to allow for some Co-op and PvE.

Rules summary:
  • Players generate a pool of abilities by choosing from a list or making up their own abilities.
  • Players secretly bid on those abilities spending Energy. Energy is an important resource during actual play; don't spend too much!
  • Each turn, players inform the GM how they spend their current Energy total to attack, defend or use their abilities. (this does not actually consume energy)
  • Actions are revealed simultaneously.
  • Damage taken (attacks-defense) is subtracted from Energy.
  • Players are eliminated when Energy reaches 0.

I'm looking for a minimum of four players, but willing to accept up to eight.  Posting of actions will most likely occur after all players inform me of their actions during a combat situation, earlier if players post quickly, later if necessary.

Quick question: Are the powers powers that you have, or ones that someone has, like the Rumble rules suggest? This will influence my choice.

Powers:
To The Abyss with Ye!: Spend 10 Energy during the Allocation Phase. Any characters (the owner of this Power included) who have 0 Defense remaining at the end of the round are permanently dragged into the Abyss by fiery tentacles.
Emptiness: Spend 10 Energy: Exchange Emptiness for any power of any other player.

The setting sounds good. ! vote RP Option #4, with more emphasis on #1 but a good quantity of ham and such added in.

Sorry that wasn't clear, the powers that you select will be put into a pool for everyone to wager energy (hp) on.

So yes as Rumble rules suggest.  They will not automatically be your powers.

Two powers:
(I found this on accident but it is really funny if you have seen another game I'm in)
Iron Guy Suit: Armor:  Ignore all Damage from any individual source that totals less than the Power Strength of Iron Guy Suit: Armor. You may ignore multiple sources of Damage that meet this requirement. If you possess other Iron Guy Suit Powers, the Power Strength of Iron Guy Suit: Armor is equal to the total Power Strength of all Iron Guy Suit Powers you possess.

Not Left Handed:  When you are reduced to 1/2 your starting Energy, say "There is something you should know- I am not left handed!" From now on you may spend 20 extra Points each round on regular Attack and Defense. These Points do not get added to your Energy, whether you spend them all or not.

I vote for setting four.
Origin:  Blank
Appearance:  A tall 16 year old looking individual with brown eyes as well as purple hair who also wears glasses. His skin looks shiny, black, and somewhat chitinous. Seems to always do things with his left hand if possible.
Personality: Lacks much of a personality but has been taught to show off as much as possible.

Welcome kj and Kansa. I suppose that, for ease of further character creation, I'll lock the setting in allowing for the optionals to be filled.  Please include which pool you are from as well.

Also, noting a lot of timed or pseudo-instakill powers. I might be changing the rules for some of them if they don't work properly or are underpowered. I also might be adding additional powers to be bargained for.

Lovers is hideously underpowered and more an annoyance since you just have to retry, unless you mean it doesn't work in which I think it's over powered since you have a very low chance to be hit. Maybe you can't attack without a roll as well?

Why?
Endless chains of Arcana: The Fool can result. That and no point in drawing the exact same skill I just used. Same reason I banned Arcana: Fortune from being used.

Well, it IS a 6 and the RNG is fickle as hell. And it doesn't work. I'm considering what to change the effects to.

Couple of things Remuthra and Collaborator, the powers are not yours immediately, they are going to be bid upon using your energy (hp stat). Secondly, this is going to have a very strong pvp/pve element, with rules defined in the first hyperlink in the OP.
Given the requested powers, I'd balance remuthras like so

Boy, I'm Getting Mighty Tired of Your Antics: Pull a loaded gun out of thin air and fire. The exact weapon and ammunition loaded are random.  Spend (not burn, there is a difference) 20 energy for a 1/4 chance to third, half, double, or triple your attack against one opponent this round.

Your Ordinary Weapons Cannot Stop Me: The negate all damage done up to the power strength (the amount of energy you spent bidding) of this power.
