Speaking of the 21 day buddy invite, can someone send me one, so I can test to see if this works on my computer?

https://secure.eveonline.com/trial/?invc=1cc561a5-6177-4731-ae72-ad71870947c4&action=buddy

That should work.

This is an interesting idea. I have two accounts, both trained reasonably well. One with, I want to say 26m SP, the other nearing 10.  Can't remember. Id be willing to jump into this.

I quit last year and probably lost most of my assests since I was in a WH corp.

If someone is online, look me up, Malachi Kelly, because right now I'm just doing the various training things with no purpose.

I'm interested as well. Got an old character that I started playing again.

Well, I have a friend who's going to be sending me a 40$ Steam pre-paid card for a single game. I've been thinking of getting the Rubicon Bundle, which comes with a 30 Day period and 1 PLEX.  But I'm not exactly sure how it works with the rest of it, cause apparently the account through Steam cannot be conjoined with an account through the Trial or anything.  So if anyone has any idea on how that works, let me know, please.

Crap. It seems like you cannot upgrade a non-Steam EVE Account. That's dumb.

Yeah, that's what I figured.  I also cannot get a trail account on Steam.  By the same token, is it possible to get a Trail account, play it for a while, and then trade/send meh new Steam account all the stuff I've collected through a bank or as a gift or the like? Is that possible?

Well, with the Rubicon pack you can either play 2 months or play one and have 650mil or so cash by selling the PLEX. I'm not sure what 14 days on a trial account would get you? Honestly I wouldn't suggest playing with Steam but if its a Steam gift card thing I understand why you would. The only real value of a trial is getting 21 day trial, upgrading day one and thus having 21 extra days of being subbed.

You get a cerebral accelerator with the Rubicon bundle which, training wise, is like a free week. You get a 50% stat bonus to all stats with a duration of 2 weeks.

Have you planned out your skill training? Losing out on a 14 day trial won't be as much an issue if you train up fast with attribute remaps on top of the accelerator.

Honestly not having a trial/buddy trial for Steam is bullshit but GabeN's word is law, so I'm not sure CCP really had a choice.

Um... I'm not sure about all of that. xD Please go over it for me, if you will.

With the Bundle I'll get 1 month and then a possible extra month, or 60 mil credits.
I'll also get a starting equipment bundle for any of the starter ships I choose.
Then about a dozen of so skill books, which were a hassle to get the last time I played.

The Accelerator makes it quicker and easier to level up those skills, and I'm pretty sure I want to go the trader/miner way in order to make enough money to keep me in PLEX in-game, or join a guild that'll help support that, cause I won't have any other money to put towards it, period.

Now, what's up with the attributes and the remaps? Are there sites that'll let me help decide on what to do? I haven't gone through the EVE Online wiki yet, though I probably need to do so here soon. Lol.

Trading at your isk level is iffy, plus mining is not a good way to earn isk imo. PLEX is 650mil, maybe a bit less depending, at 5mil an hour thats 130 hours.

Pretty sure low level missions are more time efficient. You can get to level 2 pretty fast training connections I think.

If you sell the PLEX make DAMN sure you put 600+mil and not 60mil. That would be awful if you put in the wrong number.

You can make maybe 30-40mil isk per hour on level 4 missions and if you drop the plex for time instead of isk that's plenty of time to skill up and grind faction imo to get level 3 or 4 missions.

Maybe someone with more missioning experience would care to comment or ask in the bay12 eve channel.

As far as remaps, ideally you download and run EVEMon, get a ship/fit you want and then see the training for that mastery level and then hit optimize attributes which will give you what you want to remap.

Oops. I didn't even realize I had typed the wrong thing.  But yeah, I would probably add it for time.  But okay, doing 4-level missions will bring me in good money, but what sort of missions are you talking about? I don't know how any of that works. I never got that far on my trial, before.

Last time I was lucky enough to have a friend who was getting ready to leave the game, and thus gave me a heads up with a bunch of in-game stuff that allowed me to almost get my own PLEX before my time ran out.   I'm not even sure if that account is still valid anymore. I doubt it, since its been several years ago now... 2009-ish, I think? Lol.  EVE has had several updates and expansions since then.

I do have a question, though.  Is the PLEX offered in-game EVE actually player hosted, or part of the game system trying to keep literal tonnes of isk out of the players hands in order to keep the game balanced? Usually in games like this, when a player reaches so high and have so much money, there's nothing to spend it on, and it creates a major imbalance in a lot of MMOs.

Typing the wrong thing in the market can be a disaster. I lost two Tayra's due to brain farts about how the market worked.

Your old account should still be valid IMO. Could be wrong.

PLEX was probably a lot cheaper in 2009 though. All PLEX is bought by players, but CCP has a store of confiscated PLEX they sometimes use to avoid large market disruptions in PLEX since such a thing might result in thousands losing their sub and quitting.

A lot of ISK probably gets spent by null douches like Mittens doing RMT. There was also a loss of 11trillion in assets in B-R in January although that didn't reduce the amount of ISK. EVE was the first game to have a professional economist. Based on his talks and posts basically the amount of ISK in the game is relatively stable. LP, certain NPC items, NPC corp taxes, and various other sinks prevent too mcuh inflation. I would say the average ISK per player remains stable although their is probably a top heavy concentration of money, much like IRL America.

Ratting is the major ISK faucet, probably followed by missions. You could probably google the last big econ info dump for more precise info than I can remember off the top of my head.

Also note that at least ISK wise, there is a constant destruction of assets which you must replace with ISK unlike themeparks which don't focus too much on currency faucets due to being raiding and single player content focused and where you almost never lose anything, be it weapons/armor or other items.
