curious to know how this is going.
Well, slight problem due to the massive PL region throw and thusly my alliance moved to somewhere else because new overlords would only let them rent in the rental alliance, and I was too poor to leave with them. I do have something possibly working, but its 70%/30% that I will stay vs having to quit. I had to join an AAA corp, which is fine, but the restrictions on putting down new CCs and having my own private corp hanger and what not are somewhat of a drag. The guy I work with is REALLY helpful and nice, just he doesn't have the free time to keep up with me easily. That whole people being busy IRL thing and what not.

I moved to null shortly after the last post I made in this thread.

And obviously I don't want to do anything my new overlords are not okay with. I may have to talk to them first about doing a Bay12 thing. Maybe a wormhole corp or something wouldn't bother them. They are helping me out by not kicking me to the curb, since I can't pay rent for a couple months, so I owe them.

I'm not a big fan of monthly subscription fees, and that's always kept me away from EVE. Regardless, I have for years truly been curious what the whole deal with EVE was. If you'd be willing to take on a complete newbie, I'd be glad to join in.

Well, once I get going, I doubt more people on Bay12 will want in than I can support. So if it happens I don't see why newbies would pose a problem. Hell, I'm basically a big ol' newb combat wise myself.

Regarding "the whole deal with EVE", that may be difficult to understand if you aren't in wormholes or nullsec or lowsec. Faction warfare and missions seem to me to be pretty standard MMO fare.

How much is rent per month?

For the systems I was using before my alliance left? Several billion. Both of the ones I was active in, since I dropped some of my subs till I got more on my feet, had stations.

Went better than I thought, not ideal, but not bad enough to quit. Not sure how much spare ISK I'll have for a few months, though.

Well, this is where the possibly part comes in. In a bad way.

Once my AAA contact is done with their nightly roam or w/e, I'm going to have to have a talk with him, and I expect it to go badly.

If I end up quitting I'll post some details here I guess.

Your rent ended up being jacked through the roof?

No. Its mainly an issue of logistics and also not being in my own corp anymore. Its just more effort to get any given thing done, which stacks on the general tedium of CCP's PI interface, and all of the hauling.

MY GOD. The hauling. So. Much. Hauling.

I'd rather avoid having any extra hassle on top of that.

AAA is actually super helpful and nice.

I may be interested in joining, although I do have to warn you that my interest in MMOs wanes very quickly when things start getting monotonous.  Most RPGs fall into that category due to the grind.  Other than that... I have no monies.  So I cannot even support a monthly fee, and refuse to, as well.

I'm down to play EVE for a fellow bay "sponsor." Probably don't need those quotation marks, what you're doing is called sponsorship. Or... whatchakallit.. PATRON

I'll have to see if I can run it first. But I would be very interested.

I played EVE several years ago, during one of the -rare- 2 Week Free Play things they were doing to promote whatever new Expansion they were putting out.  I made it 3/4ths of the way into paying for meh own months worth of playtime when my two weeks ran out.  Peeved me off quite a bit at the time.

Hah. I wish.   It took me over a week to get up the skillz usable enough to actually make a profit in the game.  I bet its even worse now, with all the new content and whatnot.  The time delays between getting a new skill level is rather annoying; especially compared to the bonuses paying members can get a hold of.

Speaking of the 21 day buddy invite, can someone send me one, so I can test to see if this works on my computer?

I actually get huge skill training bonuses because I spent 60$ on a crap ton of 90% off PI starter packs.

a +9 point 2 week skill booster, and a couple mil of free themed gear plus 1 month of game time that stacks on a 21 day trial? And all for only 2$ per account. Just gotta be smart and throw down on holiday sales.

Also, since its redeemable, I can essentially teleport the Epithal down to nullsec.
