As a thought, if you traded me Admin this turn I could provide warfare the next and still have spare AP

I understand sjm9876 has yet to research Warfare 2, which he`d trade with us for an equivalent amount of technologies in RPs, alas, GWG, given that the trade we had scheduled involves me trading my Administration Research to you, are you sure it is truly wise to spend 10 RPs in said technology when you could simply use our Research Agreement, as accorded, to trade for it?
No, but in my defense, I had completely forgotten about that.

Diplomatic Offers
Hello Members of the Kautavan Dominate. As another deep space society i  suggest we form a non agression pact as well as a formal alliance so we may protect our liberties from the marxist coalition on earth.

can someone explain how designing a new unit works to me

It's very simple.

Step 1: Come up with a name to call your new Unit. A description or picture of the Unit is optional but highly recommended.
Step 2: Distribute points between Attack, Defense, Evasion and Accuracy. The amount of points you get is based on the following chart:

Base Points is the number of points you get if you don't include a description or picture, Bonus points is the number of points you get if you do.
Step 3: Spend an Admin Point to submit your new design to the turn.
Step 4: You're done! An Industrial Project will then appear in your Nation Spoiler. Complete the Project and then you can start building your new Unit! You also get a spiffy prototype for completing the project too.

So, for example, if you were at Warfare Tech Level 2 and wanted to submit a design, it'd look something like this:

Ap Usage
Gain Control of Ma4 rename it into The Creation of Peace.
Create New unit the Type 14 Wolfguard

Research Usage
All ten research points into Industry

Production
Create and 1 Millipattes and put the other 20 into the creation of the Type 14 Wolfguard.

Movement
No movement.

Create New Unit

Name: Type 14 Wolfguard
Type: Mech
Attack:2
Defence:1
Accuracy:0
Evasion:1
Description: A quadruped mech designed for speed. This first iteration of a proposed series is flawed and does not yet have proper targeting systems. The engineers behind it hope to improve it dramatically for its next iteration.

For now put Aiden Lightbreaker into an SP-Arrow

A message from the heads of the RoP
To all Earth and Luna factions my offer of an non-aggression and mutual defense treaty and research treaty still stand. As for the Terran Empire we would like to offer our Industry II ((next turn)) for whatever technology you see fit.

Is that the correct way to create a new unit?

Hmm... I thought I made this more clear, but it's not Bonus Points and Base Points if you include a description/picture. It's just Bonus Points. So Type 14 Wolfguard has 2 more points than it should.

The Bonus Points suddenly seem less vital.

Such an agreement would be agreeable to us. We do wonder, however, why you only offered your improved industrial methods only to the Terran empire.

*shrug* Free points are free points.

((By the way, is FTL Skype a thing?))

Not with your current tech levels, but since everybody is in the same solar system it'd be very easy to set up some kind of conference or face-to-face meeting.

Yes, but it's not "more than twice the power" levels of free points.

How? Flying to some other place, which would take months of flight?

I could do some handwaving about ultra-fast courier ships, but the obvious answer is that each faction has embassies and ambassadors with each other.

I think I'll stick to the lightspeed communications. NERIELS is a bit of a centrally-organized organization at the moment; maybe they'll reorganize once they have bases more than a light-second away from each other.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Breaking news (Terran broadcast): loyalist victory in Europe confirmed, precious industrial infrastructure recovered. Contact regained to important sects of the old bureaucracy, administrative boon expected. More data banks retrieved, research in in experimental drones resumes. Ancient frigate crashed in Scandinavia retrieved, provisory government announces intentions to repair the ship. Battles between rebels and separatists still rage across most of the planet, operations in Russia and the Middle-East expected to restore stability in the region.

To the HoP: we accept your offer and note that you are free to pick the technology of your preference from our pool.
To the EDL: while we see your point, as, between the two of us, we'd then come 1 AP in the surplus, we are unfortunately unable to take you on that request, or, as the next turn will already, in all likelihood, see all our AP employed in technology exchanges, our growth would be much too stunted were we not to take over two provinces this turn (I wouldn't have enough places to use my production on building infrastructure for next turn).

Edit: cleared ambiguity in unit design. The Corvette is now a corvette.

Note: Designing a Unit takes 1 AP, so you currently can't expand into two provinces and design the frigate in the same turn.
