I did recheck the move, and indeed, I was hasty. Dig is a pre-evolution move gained from Nincada, and I picked it before really checking the level, thinking oh well, it evolves on level 20, guess it learns dig early


- turns out nincada learns dig at level 45 (who the hell would keep it unevolved up to this point)


anyway, this renders our battle inofficial, I'll quickly hop back in and make changes. how embarrasing, the OP failing at her ow rules

Oh, and um...I'm thinking I'll need to drop out, unless we can get the tournament finished really, really soon. See, I'm not going to have my laptop for possibly a couple weeks within a few days, so...unless Pokemon Showdown has a tablet version, I pretty much won't be able to compete with any regularity.

That's good. Also good is that I won't be fully restrictred to the tablet. I dhould have access to sa netbook some, such as now, although the different keyboard size will throw off my touch typing. I might be over that by now, though.

Yangus decided to head Sankt forest on his way to Une town, after he heard the ramblings of an old, strange smelling gentleman in the pokemon center.
"Giovani buried his treasure in a forest, when he hid out in this region. The cargo is worth millions.  That's true, or I'm a lying drunk"

The portly youth had no idea what the treasure was, or where it was hidden. But he was determined to find it.
Yangus never found that treasure, but he did find a rare display. Two Nidorinos were fighting. Nidorinos are known for their aggression, and often battled over territory and mates. However, what made this scene rare was the sapphire hue of the larger, older specimen. It was a one in a million chance, that Yangus would have seen a so called "shiny" Nidorino. And he would have been elated, but there was just one problem. The blue Nidorino was clearly much older and skilled than the Nidorino being assaulted. The fight appeared very one sided, as the normal shaded Nidorino tried to move past  the territorial shiny. It had no interst in mates or territory. Yangus had heard stories about certain Nidorino. These Pokemon would ignore the pabulum of normal life, and searched for the stones that would lead them to "heaven". Their journeys would take them around the world, and many would never find these stones: Their journeys were often cut short by injury or captivity.  Yangus admired this creature, he felt a kindred spirit in the normal Nidorino's search. Perhaps, the young man saw something in this Nidorino's quest that reminded him of his own decision to strike out on his own. Yangus decided to come to its aid.

"Azazel, use Fire Punch on the blue Nidorino!"
The Scraggy slugged the assaulting Nidorino with a fist cloaked in crimson sending it careening into a tree. Many bug pokemon flew out from they're hiding place. The normal hued Nidorino was went off into the forest.

The sapphire Nidorino was knocked unconscious, yet Yangus didn't catch it. The escaped Nidorino had no interest in territory or mates, and taking the only male in the area would have dangerous consequences. That's what Yangus said to himself, in truth, the escaped Nidorino is what set his heart ablaze.

Yangus continued into the forest and encounterd the Nidorino from earlier bashing at box that was uprooted from the earth. Had it unearthed the treasure? How did it know it was there? Yangus pondered these questions as the Nidorino turned to him, acknowledging his presence. The creature nudged toward the box.
"I'll open that up for you big guy", Yangus said jovially. He fiddled with the locks and the old chest popped open. The Nidorino leaped inside with the swiftness of a Magikarp in the rainy season. The Nidorino retrieved a purplish orb from the container, and spat it out with a disspointed sigh and looked at Yangus.
"You want't me to have this?"
The beast let out a whine an nodded. It then pointed to the orb, then to it, then to Yangus's waste. Where he kept 9 empty Pokeballs...
