WTF-Quoting-WTF
« on: December 05, 2013, 05:14:46 am »

I see everyone that gets sigged or quoted a lot in these forums. Most of the time I never figured someone would like what someone would say enough to sig it and other times I wondered why no one had sigged it first. So basically I'm going WTF about what people are looking for when they see something that want to sig or like to quote. I really dont have a clue how one goes about to get sigged (personally I dont really care since I figure I dont have anything really good to say most of the time) but since the question bugged me enough to finally to ask to see what kind of answers one can get.

Really, it's simply a matter of luck, as it's all dependent on where, what, and when you post something, and who sees it.

I figure that if you stay around long enough as a regular poster, it's pretty much inevitable that someone will quote you.

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

Meh. You notice it, but you don't notice how often certain people get sigged versus others, so of course it would seem like other people get sigged more.

That said, some people get sigged more then others. I got sigged more often earlier in my accounts life then more recently. Map-cap and outrageous comments get sigged more often then well-thought out ones. What can you do?

Hey, you have an avatar now! No longer faceless thy shall be.

Personally I've only been quoted once across maybe 8000 posts :v

Who were you talking to there?

Also I was wondering about gifs. Since what Skyrunner said above me, I was trying to look for gifs to do for an avatar but most of them are crap. I have less than no clue how to make one really.

Bah you young whippersnappers and your avatar changing. The obvious answer is to pick one singular avatar and never change it ever again, thus allowing for an association of yourself with the picture to be created and maintained. :P

I think most of the siggery goes on in the lower lower boards, so either abandon all hope or venture down and abandon all sanity.

Of course, mine is still an upper board sig, and someone will have to be pretty damn witty to pry that from my cold, lifeless clutches.
