Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Look for the people of reason we were told about may be good. Also fixing the field would be good to. Maybe fix the field and then talk to... the mechanic if we have time?
Sounds like a plan!

*Go on with your lives, my followers, and live by my commandment until I return.*
"Yes, our lord. We will. Thank you."
*And Sam?*
"Yes, Keith, my lord?"
*Your name shall be Jeriah.*
"I am grateful for this new name. Sam was kind of boring. Until you return, we shall worship you."

You head over to the fields behind Jeff's house. They are still dusted with Chaos. You attempt to lift it. (Roll=3) You critfail, and the crops only gather more Chaos. It begins to spread to some of the grass, spilling out. This is very bad.

Should you try to correct this first, or move on to the mechanic?

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Correct this fallacy...

You focus your divine energies of Reason onto the field and the spilling Chaos. (Roll=19) A blast of green Reason comes from the sky, obliterating the Chaos and imbuing Reason into the crops! The field will now have increased yields, because blights, being of Sickness, will stay away from them.

(Reason's direct opposition is Madness, but things in similar domains (i.e. Chaos and Sickness) are also opposed, just to let you know.)

You now head to the mechanic, having taken care of the fields. You arrive in his hut, and you see he has a bunch of parchment lying around, covered in math. (Not exactly calculus, but more along the lines of basic geometry and physics.) The mechanic himself is working furiously, writing, scribbling, and intermittently working on a sort of rounded triangle mounted on a free-spinning axle.

What shall you do/say?

Imbue his mind with the power to see reason.

You can tell he can already see reason very clearly already, and you like that.

+1. May I suggest a small addition?
If so: Say "My name is Keith, God of Reason. What are you working on there?

You can make an addition, but I wanted to see his reaction and gauge his dedication to work before speaking.

Expend all of your manna to make a magic Tome of Reason.
-1, no need to spend everything on anything for a while.

Um...Manifest in the same room as him.

You manifest your avatar in his hut, making sure to avoid stepping on any parchment. To do him a favor, you order all his documents in a reasonable manner. He doesn't seem to notice you, so you catch his attention by giving him a feeling of being in your presence.

*Greetings mortal, I am Keith, god of Reason. I have come to speak to you, that you may follow my ways.*
"Eh what? Go away; I'm busy."
*You are in the presence of a god. Have respect, for I bring the secrets to perfecting your design.*
"WHAT? Really?! Please, give them to me!"
*Only if you respect me and my commandment, and worship me.*
"Fine, what's your commandment?"
*The First Commandment of Keith, god of reason, is that His followers must perform all of their actions in the most reasonable and logical manner to achieve the goals Keith, their leaders, and they themselves have set for themselves.*
"That doesn't sound too hard, I'll keep it in mind and live by it. Now, the secrets?"

You infuse his mind with Reason. He starts spasming with the revelation, until he balances out and stops. His eyes go wide, and he throws the rounded triangle aside to start working on something a bit rounder.

Soon enough, before your very eyes, he shouts a triumphant "YES! IT'S DONE!" as he spins his invention on the axle. A wheel. He's invented the wheel. "With this technology, we'll go far, both figuratively AND literally! Thank you for this knowledge! I shall serve you in my endeavors, my lord Keith, god of Reason!" He's very excited, and quickly gets to work on using this new invention for other things.

Briefly wonder why he was starting with a triangle.
