The problem is, Jeff and his wife only believe because of a miracle. Any god could've done that, and gained both their following. Thus, they follow us not because we are powerful but because we helped them.
Well, duh. We're not strong.

Speaking to the younger people in the village will allow their faith to develop as they grow and create stronger followers.
Agreed. They should be easier to convince, too.

Find a man/woman of science or alchemy and subtly show them the reason in the world.
Consider looking for and helping the younger (teenagers/young adults) so they will follow you, and develop stronger faith in you over time.
Now that that's dealt with lets get a look around the village.
((By the way guys, the color of Reason is purple.))

Naitre II

*Would you mind showing me around the village, Jeff?*
"Certainly, O Lord."

He leads you outside, and shows you the fields of crops behind his hut.

"These are my fields. As a farmer, I work them, and feed the village. They haven't been growing as well, though, recently."

You see a faint Chaos aura around the plants.

*Troubling. There is Chaos in the field.*
"I suppose that would be a reasonable explanation. Could you heal my crops?"
*Perhaps later. I would like to see more of your village first.*
"Gladly, my Lord Keith."

By Jeff's dialog it is clear he is still very much thankful for you healing his wife of the Chaos. He leads you to the town center.

"Here is where most of our people live, aside from the craftspeople and farmers like me."
*How many young people are in your village?*
"There are many. Relatively, at least, our village is somewhat small. There are 50 people in all, and the majority of the youth hang around here."

He brings you to a small open circle, where there are young men sitting, discussing crops and apprenticeships.

*This is good. Could you bring me to a man of science?*
"A man of what?"
*Do you have alchemists, doctors, herbalists, any men who work with the natural?*
"Well... we do have a herbalist who gathers magic plants from the countryside, and an alchemist who helps when we have other sorts of illness the herbalist cannot fix with his brews. He also keeps talking about turning stone into gold, but most people thinks he's crazy. We also have a man who calls himself a 'mechanic', whatever that is. He goes and gets stone and wood and tries to make something he calls a "roundroll device", but he says he can't get it right. That's pretty much all I know about those things."
*Thank you for telling me.*
"You are welcome, my Lord. If you have any questions, you know where to find my house."

Hm. These young men sound quite reasonable. Perhaps we should reason with them and see if we can get them reasonably on board with joining a Cult of Reason.

Also find and assist the mechanic by finding the reason he can't make the roundroll device.

Good idea, but you consider that you might want a manifestation of some kind. A physical avatar would be nice, but you are still a weak baby god, and you couldn't sustain a physical body of your own making for too long, but you could definitely manage a phantasmic one.

What should your avatar look like, for now?

A giant lizard of some type. Well... a lizard that's about human size.

A bit of clockwork, clockwork is reasonable and predictable.

Also a bit cliche and off-putting.

Why not just a human, with a little extra? Maybe violet skin, or an enlarged forehead, or both, plus perfect symmetry?

Sounds like an appealing compromise would be a purple humanoid lizard with a gear on its chest. How about that?

You begin to shape your avatar's form in your mind. It is a large, humanoid, purple lizard, about 6'2" in height, with a large 24-tooth gear in the middle of it's chest. It is perfectly symmetrical, with reasonable porportions.

Yes. This will be your form. Keith, the giant lizard god of reason.

You shape this form in the village, appearing above the teenagers and descending. They watch as you slowly touch down, encompassed by a holy aura, in awe.

*I am Keith, god of reason, and I wish to speak with all of you.*

Will you...
Demand they bow down to you?
State that you wish to be their god, or are their new god already?
Say something else?

Let's go with option 2 variation one. It has very sound reason behind it.
