"My whole team except myself, ironically. Matveenko, Williams, and Messing are already at ground zero. I'll direct them to you, you're going to need assistance. There is an assembled hovercraft in the storage section cell 23. You can retrieve that. Have you ever piloted a hover before?"

"I achieved my virtual pilots license in special vehicle operations up to at A3 before our departure-I can safely pilot hoverpacks, grav-platforms, personal and two seated hovercraft and our non-combat powerloaders.

So yes. Virtually, at least. I've never actually ridden one or any of those in real life. Bioglo's insurance policy would never allow that."

"Even grav-platforms, eh? Bioglo did always have the latest tech, that's for sure. Most simulators don't even include grav-platforms. I'd heard they aren't even real some time before our departure.
Anyway, we could only have one hover in an assembled state, so it may be a bit heavier than what you trained for: it's a six-seater, just for a situation like this. Williams can drive it for you, or you can try it yourself, if you'd like."

"I suppose now's a good time to learn-if things get dicy I'll let him have the wheel.

And, if I'd have a way to describe a Grav-platform to you, it's a bit like trying to fly in a filled bathtub without spilling any water. Frankly, I'm not sure if they ever worked out the bugs.

I should be getting to my work. We really don't know what's out there, do we? I suppose the best we can hope for is not to let anyone face it alone."

"Agreed. Good luck, doctor."
((Question: how often should we have updates in this thing?))

((It's up to your style as GM. Generally, three days between updates is the point people begin to lose focus-remember to nudge your players if they are not posting, and don't be afraid to skip them if they don't respond.))

((I could update every day, even, because I've got the check-your-replies syndrome big time. So, now we're basically waiting for Urist Mc Dwarf and USEC_OFFICER. Right. I'll wait an hour, and then go nudge them.))

((I've checked their stats, and neither of them has ever posted at four or five am by b12 time. I'm guessing they're just asleep (Pfft, weak organic lifeforms...).))

((With 160 people, counting the Jah's Home? Well, look. You are a non-military force. Of course, you are armed, and some of you are ex-soldiers. However, you are neither the largest nor the most military-oriented expeditionary group. For example, the Africans, through implementation of socialist politics (planned economy, stuff like that), managed to scrounge enough money to send 400 people to Boreas, of whom approximately half are soldiers. Of course, they're on another continent, but...
Of course, some governments may resort to violence to claim better territories for themselves in the future, but currently, there's enough place for everyone. You may have to defend your claim to this place later, though.
Besides, even if you somehow managed to conquer the whole planet (which is approximately Earth-sized - a bit smaller, maybe) with your one hundred-sixty people, in seventy years the second wave ships will be dropping in with tens of thousands, and that would undo your progress a bit.))

(( Mwhahaha, my immortal army of robotic soldiers controlled by me sitting on something resembling a golden throne will soon convince them to accept the status quo. Or die painfully.

Or I'll just build some extremely over sized artillery and shoot the second wave out of the sky.

Plus we have a cloner, 100,000 new arrivals with minimum equipment like ours won't last a week againt an army of clone soldiers, cyborgs, droids and autotmated weaspon systems :P. ))

(( I planned ahead :P since my end goal is to become an all but immortal cyborg who plays hive mind for the droid army when needed. Take them by surprise with an army of droid gunships and soldiers. They won't last long :).

Besides we have a cloner, we don't need new people.))
